Guest guest
Hi Patty, It's possible, no guarantees, but highly possible. Like yours, ours was a little older (3)when she just stagnated. But she is in a regular kindergarten with no aide and per teacher reports doing beautifully academically and socially. In her class, 5 of the 18 kids have an IEP, but she does not require one. She gets invited to all the girls house and has them frequently at hers. I am a psychologist and have tested her every way I can think of and sent her out for testing and we can find no learning disabilities, no cognitive deficits and no differences at all. Hope is a marvelous thing...it's highly possible. [ ] Re: How long? Any " cures " ? Hello all - This post made me finally brave enough to ask - Has anyone here actually had a child cured - really cured - by removing metals and accompanying treatments? My 10 year old was normal until just past 5. I am convinced it was mostly caused by mercury. We started chelating around 5 1/2 months ago and had nice progress, but I am afraid to hope for her to return to her former self. Does that actually happen ever, really, or just improvements? Guest guest
Patty, I've been on this list for six and a half years and periodically parents come on and tell us that their children are completely cured and are indistinguishable from their peers. It happens! Barb [ ] Re: How long? Any " cures " ? Guest guest
Oh, and by the way, Patty, my son is 26 and we are still hoping and working for all that we can get! He is a college student, a junior, with supports, but has a ways to go with social, behavioral and self-help stuff, also speech. Nevertheless, the " smarts " for schoolwork are all there! Guest guest
How long did you do biomed before your child progressed so much? And how affected was he before you started. A lot of people have children that are only mildly affected to begin with and improvements show up so much more easily. I am just curious how much a moderately affected child somewhat verbal child could make from age 7 for one year if we did the chelation with the DMSA. Chris [ ] Re: How long? I feel like I should do some kind of superstitious hex-dance before saying this, but I think my son is just about there. I wish I had a clearer sense of what normal looks like, because at this point I'll be wondering whether something is a biomed issue and it keeps turning out to be a regular 8 yo boy issue. Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: Anita In my opinion, even if a child makes a full recovery, I'm not sure they'll ever return to their former self. The path to recovery is often long, often difficult. Parents change. Other siblings change. I'm sure that the path to recovery changes the child too. <<<I agree, we'll never know for certain what she would have been like had she not been pumped full of toxins. OTOH, however, I am maybe in a unique position to judge this as this is my granddaughter. Part of the thrill of being a grandparent is reliving your child's childhood at a much relaxed pace. But as my granddaughter's personality developed I was amazed and truly alarmed at times, at how unbelievably different she was then my daughter. Some differences are to be expected of course but there was hardly anything I could point to that made her like my daughter. I remarked to several people how they were like night and day. But one day about a year ago I heard my granddaughter laugh and I remembered thinking that this laugh so reminded me of my daughter's laugh. As time has gone on her personality has changed in about a dozen ways and now does resemble very closely her mother's personality. So, I'm thinking this is her, the her that would have been, the her that got interrupted so many months ago. I don't believe this to be a bad thing--in fact, if a child does make a full recovery it may be a very good thing--but I don't think any of us will ever go back to exactly what we were before. I'm happy to hear that your seeing improvements in your daughter :-) Anita > > Hello all - > > This post made me finally brave enough to ask - Has anyone here > actually had a child cured - really cured - by removing metals and > accompanying treatments? > > My 10 year old was normal until just past 5. I can't tell yet whether this ever, ever gets any better. I wish I had a clearer sense of what normal looks like, <<<She is finally at the age at which I have seen thousands of kids so I know exactly what is normal now and what isn't. But this is a common worry of all parents just probably heightened in us. But I can help, ask anytime, 6-12 was the main focus of my education and my experience. because at this point I'll be wondering whether something is a biomed issue and it keeps turning out to be a regular 8 yo boy issue. Guest guest
, truly marvelous results for 20 rounds. Congrats and may you see many more improvements! Amazing what they teach them in kindergarten now, isn't it? Ours was discussing the differences betweens a goods and a services economy the other day, what???? [ ] Re: How long? Any " cures " ? I feel I should do the superstition dance as well. My son is not seen as cured by the school (he just turned 6 and in kindergarten) but we really think of him as almost there. He shares a para with another child, but is learning all of the material presented and can read and write and understands what he reads. Recently, we had this conversation - wait, I would like to preface it by saying he never called me mom until he was almost 4, was essentially nonverbal until 4, a headbanger, perseverated, self stimulatory, but he could have relationships(which are his hardest thing now, with other kids, they scare him) and decent attention span - if interested. Anyway, in school that very day they learned about fractions (kindergarten!) and we had this exchange: Him: Can I have another peice of pizza? Me: Your brother wants one too and there is one left..what should we do? Him: Split it! Me: And then... Him: He would have on and I would have one. Me: And it would be called.... Him: A HALF! He has had biomed for 2 years, GFCF for close to two years, 20 rounds of ALA chelation and NCD. We still have issues, stimmy (yeast) but they are truly minor at this point. I credit mostly biomedical intervention and chelation and I completely expect full recovery.
