Keri,

Don't see magnesium on your list of supps. My son takes magnesium, am/pm about

600 mgs daily.

Hospitalized 2x for asthma. Longevitiy plus had cover blurb on magnesium fixing

childhood asthma.

Bio-set helped his respiratory issues, that I never thought would go away. Use

all sorts of stuff,with

the home nebs. for YEARS. Rarely gets sick now.

Good luck. We are off all the albuterol, steroids. Didn't have to do many

bio-set treatments either.

Try Lauricidin Monolaurian they are pellets and are the protocol of Dr. Mc

Candle'ess. Hope this helps..

Does anyone have a product that they swear by to help with immune system? My

little guy 2.6yo (Celiac/ASD) has a horrible immune system. Within 1 day of

showing symptom of a cold it turned into bronchitis and more asthma than

usual. He is being treated with Singular for enviromental allergies

producing asthma as well as trying to keep his airways open during the

horrid cold season (we are in Alaska). But he catches everything possible

strict (GFCFSFEF, low corn, preservative free, organic). He is on

supplements not too many right now because he is just getting over the last

bout until yesterday when a new bout came on. But he is Bcomplex, milk

thistle, propolis, colostrom, Adrenal Extract, multi vite/mineral, Sambucol,

probiotics (rotating). Also his yeast goes crazy when all this happens of

course. Any suggestions?

goes 4-8 times a day. And he is not completely solid yet...mag. makes it worse.

And I ordered the vit C. it looked good.

Hi Keri,

I don't know if you've already tried these but for us mag. glycinate

didn't really change stools one way or the other and mag. oxide can

sometimes firm things up a bit - thought it's not absorbed as

efficiently.

Keri,

Experiment with different types of magnesium. Magnesium Citrate is

used to soften stools. I use it. Mag Hydroxide is what is in Milk

of Magnesia, so don't use that, either.

The URL might be too long, but you can take a look at Kirkman's

buffered mag glycinate. In their item description they talk about

oxide tending to be a stool firming form of mag, too.

I have tried both oxide and glycinate and neither helps as far as the stools.

It does help w/behavior and things but we can't handle all of the diapers and he

has a hard enough time keeping it in and weight on.

Why may he not be able to use magneisium?

If you haven't tried magnesium glycinate, give it a shot. It is the

one least likely to cause loose stools. It should have no effect on

stools at all. I say " should " knowing how individual a spectrum kid

can be.

I missed that you had already tried glycinate. Try topical

magnesium in the form of magnesium oil or magnesium gel by

globallight.net or the epsom salts cream from Kirkman labs or there

are directions somewhere on making your own.

He probably does need it, but his gut can't handle it.

I can't answer specific to magnesium, but as an example, my son was

" fully loaded " after many months of supplementation and had problems

if I gave more, of B12, folic acid, and TMG. These supplements also

did NOT help his language. However, once I added carnitine, I was

able to add back all three of them, and now they are helping his language.

So maybe your son needs something in addition to the magnesium.
