Check out these two web sites! Orthomerica Cranial Technologies, Inc., Manufacturer of the DOC Band for Positional Plagioc

You are not too late. We started our second band at almost a year. Total treatment will be about 5 months. Less head growth so any changes just takes longer. Please go to the links section read and print out any info. If you mention your location, maybe someone can help you with treatment options.

With the DOC you have to go to their clinic location but the Orthomerica STAR can be used by a local orthotics person. Welcome and glade we are here to help!

Hello and welcome. My daughter started treatment when she was 9 months old

and she is almost 15 months old now. We have had really good improvement with

our helmet and especially in the last few months. It is not too late, but I

would recommend a band like the DOC or STARband since you are starting a

little later. These devices are more dynamic than most helmets which tend to

be more passive. Not to say that you wouldn't have success with a helmet

because that is what we had and it has worked well, but if you have a choice

I would suggest something more dynamic since your child is older. I think you

will get good responses from other members of this group. We have LOTS of

parents who have started treatment for their babies at a much later age than

11 months.

Best of luck to you, I'm glad you found us and I hope you will stick with us.

This group has been an incredible source of support to me - I couldn't have

made it without it! By the way, what is your name and where are you from? You

may find that we have someone in your area that help with recommendations and

support.

Hello Marci, mom to :

Thank you for your response and helpful advice. We are going on Monday to

learn more of the band and hope to " get the ball rolling " , so to speak. I am

so glad to know it is not too late. Just wish we'd have been told sooner of

our options, but I guess we can't keep looking back.

,

You are SOOOO right - if only our ped had referred us when we first pointed

out our concerns when was 4 months! But, as you said, we have stopped

looking back and are focused on the future - a future that includes a round

head!! LOL
