It is not too soon. The sooner the better, your child is young and

that's the best time to begin.

You can use dmps or dmsa. Dmsa if he is toxic in a lot of metals

especially Lead. DMPS if he is not. Add in ALA at some point also to

chelate the brain.

Oral works better. TD is not any easier because you will still have

yeast. The chelator will pass through the gut to get rid of the

metals. The dosing is just more accurate and most poeple see better

results with oral. Some do use TD, but often end up on oral.

There is no such thing as waiting until the gut is completely

healed. It may never be completely healed. As long as your child is

metal toxic, his immune function will be impaired and gut problems

will be there. It is best of course, to be doing what you are doing

to help chelation go easier. You will need to continue with a yeast

protocol throughout treatment.

What type of dosing protocol are people using for DMSA or DMPS

suppositories? For those using the suppositories, do you also add

in oral ALA for the metals in the brain?

Thanks,

Sheryl

ALA is essential, DMSA and DMPS are not essential.

I view the routine prescribing of suppositories as child abuse.

If they can't take pills, use transdermal products.

Regardless of whether it is oral, transdermal or suppository it has to be given

adequately

frequently, which is every 3-4 hours for ALA, every 4 for DMSA and every 6 for

DMPS.

Think about how you would have turned out if your parents had stuffed a

suppository up

you every 4 hours for 3 days every week for years on end! Then decide what form

to use.

I started chelating [with ALA] my #4 when she was 2yo.

>>Do you have to wait until the gut is completely healed?

For my kids, the gut did not heal *until* I chelated.

>>Is transdermal safer and easier on the gut then oral?

In my personal opinion, oral ALA is the safest.

> Hi Dana,

> Did you receive ALA thru a DAN doctor?

No, I bought it at my local health food store.

> I know that the AC protocol chelation dosage is 1/8 to 1/4 per lb.

My son weighs 30 lbs. therefore with 1/8 dose his dosage would be

3.75 mg right? How do you measure the right dosage for your child?

I would try 25mg capsules from Kirkman [buy the hypoallergenic ones]

and divide them into 5 piles.

>>Is there a measuring device that you can use?

I used my eyeballs.

> I don't know how to feel about all this.... do you think its time

to look for another DAN?

Based on what you wrote, yes. Or, just do it yourself.

>>I know in the end its up to us the parents to research and

understand completely what we are giving our kids but your DAN should

also be there to guide you in the right direction.

If you can convince him to authorize ALA, then you can keep him for

testing etc. But if he will decline everything you suggest, then find

another one or do it yourself.

Hi Rio,

I'm chelating my 2 yr old son for the last 6 months using Andy's

protocol. He is responding very well compared to my 8 yr old.

Looking at both my kids responses to chelation, I can say the sooner

the better. IMHO it would be wasting precious time waiting for the

gut to heal to start chelation. I'm not sure if the gut would be

healed as long as the metals are there in the body.

With my youngest one I started with DMSA(initially with 5mgs, then

increased it to 8mgs) for about 4 months, and then added ALA(about

8mgs). I get the 50mgs ALA tablets from Vitamin Shoppe and split it

into about 6 parts(which is roughly 8mgs). 25 mgs DMSA capsules are

available from www.vrp.com and I divide each capule into 3 portions.

My 2 yr old has gotten used to taking the dose every 3 hrs(ALA in

teaspoon of water) he comes running saying 'Its dose time Mom'. :-)

Hope this helps!

>>For the last 1 month , he is frequently urinating during day

time.....10-12 times during school time.

This is one of the symptoms of mineral depletion at my house. Try

increasing minerals.

>> also he is holding his private part often. When asked if it hurts

there ...he says " NO " .

This usually meant yeast overgrowth here.

> Please give your opinions and also if any one out there chelating

the NT siblings along with the affected kids...

I chelated all four of my kids, and myself. Only one child has a dx,

altho all of us were vaccine injured.
