Guest guest
Stasia, Thanks for the update! It sounds like things went as well as can be expected. Hopefully the band will come in soon. I would think 2-3 weeks would be the time frame. How long have you been waiting? Let us know when it gets here! Guest guest
Hello all! had his sedated MRI yesterday. As far as I know everything is okay...I haven't heard from the neurologist who ordered the scan yet. He wasn't allowed to eat after 3:15am so since I wasn't really sleeping anyway, I woke him up at 2:30 to feed him...I was afraid that if I didn't that he would wake up at 3:20 wanting to eat! So that went okay and then I no sooner went to sleep it was time to get up and go. We took our 4yo in his pj's over to my mom's so he wouldn't have to come to the hosp. with us. Then we took ...everything started out fine. He was smiling at everyone and didn't seem to be bothered that he missed his breakfast at all. Not until they started sticking him that is! They didn't give him that orange juice stuff that everyone was talking about. The policy at AI DuPont hospital is that they do an IV drip to make sure the medication flows through. So the lady started sticking in his right hand and couldn't get a vein then the left hand, then the right forearm, then finally the side of his foot. By this time we were all sweating and I was really ready to say forget it and just grab him and start running for the door, but I thought it was better to stick it out. (no pun intended!) Once all the sticking was done everything was fine. He was VERY sleepy all day. I couldn't hardly get him to stay awake for more than a feeding, but then by 9:30pm he was ready to go...just as I was ready to collapse! But he slept through the night and woke up today in a great mood. The helmet wasn't in yet so we weren't able to pick it up while we were there. I was really hoping to get it yesterday, I hope it comes soon! How long does it take for the starband to be ready?? Talk to you all later. Guest guest
Stasia, Poor I am glad that everything ended better than it started. I really think that the person who was having trouble sticking him should have to go thru the same thing. Didn't they have someone on who specializes in doing IV's in babies? I am glad to hear that he is back to his happy self today. Good luck, April Mommy to Bri and Mandy > Hello all! > > had his sedated MRI yesterday. Guest guest
Stasia, I'm so glad that's behind you and - yikes! We have a locally made helmet that is made in-house within a week and a half, so I don't know what the average time to recieve the STARband is. Sorry. But I'm hoping that yours arrives soon! e 4/00 (1st helmet 12/00-3/01) Gaylord, Michigan
Guest guest
Thanks!! We've been waiting for the band a little over 2 weeks now. They said it would be ready in 2 weeks, but Suzanne told me that hers took a month from the same place...so now I am going to chill out and just wait as patiently as possible. I am really anxious to get this started, can you tell!! Stasia > Stasia, > > Thanks for the update! It sounds like things went as well as can be expected. > Hopefully the band will come in soon.
