Guest guest
Hi - Boy did you come to the right place for answers - this group is wonderful. My name is Amy and my son Max is in the STARband since 2/19. You didn't say how old your daughter is now...7 months? How is the torticollis? Max doesn't mind his band and has just now stopped pulling it off(well, he didn't pull it off today but tomorrow is another day) He has always slept fine with it...never a problem. The sweating stopped a few days after he was in the band for 23 hours per day. He did get a mild rash on the side of his face and head and I put Hydracortisone on it and it was gone in an hour. Max is 11 months old (today). I have not seen any results yet, but I am anxiously waiting for them. There are so many people here that have had such wonderful results. You will definately find that the rewards of the band/helmet, will far outweigh your worries...I am certain that Isabella will adjust beautifully! Good luck and great to have you here. Guest guest
Hello and welcome!! I'm sorry I didn't catch your name in your post. I'm glad you found us! Are you getting the STARband or is it a locally made band? It kind of sounds like it might be the STARband. I will say that never really had any trouble adjusting to the helmet and it did not disrupt her sleep patterns (which weren't very good to start with!) However, she does great sleeping now - no trouble at all! There are some people here whose children do take a little longer to adjust, but in that case you just take it slow and build up your time in the band slowly, but surely. As far as the eczema, we have several moms dealing with that problem and they will be able to give you some good input in that area. I am glad that you have joined us and I hope you will find this group to be a AWESOME source of support. I know they have helped me more than I can say!! Guest guest
My daughter was 19 months old when we starte with the DOC band. She didn't have much problem adjusting to wearing it. A few times she would try to take it off but we distracted her and she has left it alone for the most part. She gets mad now when it is off. Hope this helps a little.
