Guest guest
, just a quick note as I am getting ready to leave, but healing adrenals takes YEARS literally, a long, long time. Isocort is not appropriate for kids, IMO, keep at the ACE and the B5, C, B2 and B6. Even after I added cytomel labs didn't improve and I didn't feel better until I added the Isocort. I have reduced the kids Armour by 30mgs. Any other suggestions on their labs? Does their FT3 need to be higher? Dr. Usman agreed to do a full endo work-up on the kids and adrenal testing. She asked me to look into finding a good lab that has pediatric RR for saliva testing. The kids have not improved w/ ACE/B5/sea salt for adrenals (neither did I until Isocort). Dr. Usman mentioned ZRT or Great Smokies for the saliva testing. Does anyone know if they have proper RR? Anyone done this with their children? Any good labs? I am so happy to finally have an MD that will look at this with me and want to make sure we aren't wasting our time with the wrone labs. Thanks in advance. Feel free to email me privately.
Guest guest
We are having some of the same conversion issues (T4 to T3). We had one draw where the conversion was happening well, and that was when my kid was eating a ton of brazil nuts (high in selenium). Our last draw was down a bit, fine by the lab's reference range, but not by Andy's recommendations. During this time my kiddo was not doing the brazil nut thing. I have increased his selenium (he won't touch brazil nuts anymore) to see if this will address it. Are you supplementing selenium? If so, how much? Guest guest
, Have you tried licorice? Could be helpful with gut problems/dysbiosis/inflammation, as well as adrenals. Also what about phos serine? Both this and the licorice can help with the feedback to the brain and normalizing adrenal levels. Another thing that might be worth a try is acupuncture. Don't know where you are, but I know an acupuncturist in San , CA who knows a good bit about thyroid (which is unusual for an acupuncturist), and also about adrenals. (Not sure if she treats kids.) -- > > > > , just a quick note as I am getting ready to leave, but > healing adrenals takes YEARS literally, a long, long time. Guest guest
Why is this (adrenals, thyroid) unusual to know for acupunctist? Guest guest
Unfortunately, we already use coconut oil in all my cooking as well as supplementing VCO. I do believe it helps their thyroid issues, but doesn't appear to help w/ adrenals or weight issues. > > > As for adrenal support, I have found that 's B2, B5 and B6, > > with C, given very frequently, is what seems to work best here. > > > > , > > I have a vague recollection of a study I read that showed using virgin > coconut oil with the Bs normalized cortisol levels pretty quickly.
