Guest guest
Stacey, Thank you for the update on Hannah! Definately check with your orthotist if you have concerns about head shape changes that don't seem right to you. My guess is that they will have a pretty good explanation - but my motto is " if you don't know - ask!!! " (and keep asking if you need to!!!) I'm glad to hear that she is adjusting well and that you have faced the public with ease and style!! Let us know what the ortho says! Guest guest
Hi everyone! I haven't posted in a few weeks...been busy fighting with Humana over our denial for Hannah's DOC band. Just wanted to update everyone on our progress. Hannah has been in her band for one month now. I can't say that I see any improvements yet. I am actually worried she is getting flatter in two areas that we didn't originally have problems with. I am going to ask our orthotist about it next week when we go in for our adjustment. Has anyone else experienced this? She appears to be getting flat on the top/front of her head where the top of the band rests....and in the top/back where the band rests. She is going to be a year old in two weeks so I am sure our progress will be slower than someone starting at an earlier age. She has adjusted to it great. We decorate the band and people actually come up to us to tell us how cute she looks. The fear of the " public " has not been a real problem with us. Hannah is so social I think that puts people more at ease. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know how Hannah is doing. Hope everyone else is having great success with their bands! Guest guest
Stacey: Glad you are starting to see some progress on Hannah's little head - she started about the same time as Abby rec'd her DOC band, Abby was 11.5 mos when we rec'd hers - we've seen wonderful improvement thus far. It's nice you only have to go every 3 wks., we have a 3 hr drive to, still going bi-weekly, not fun with a hiper 1 year old! Good Luck! Guest guest
Stacey, Glad to hear that Hannah is adjusting so well to her band. Good for you hanging in there it will all be worth it to see that wonderfully round head.
