Guest guest
and Soenke, Welcome to the group - I am glad that you found us!! I am so happy to hear that you will be able to get treatment even if it means looking out of the country! What kind of device are you getting? A helmet or a band? My baby started in her helmet when she was 9 months old and is now 14 months. We have seen very good improvement. We have a lot of members who have started at 12 months and later have had good success. I am sure that some of them will answer your post. I wish you the best of luck and hope that you will keep us posted!! Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
Guest guest
, Hi, my name is Jill. My son Josh did not get diagnosed with plagio until he was 18 months old!! He started DOC Band treatment just after he turned 19 months. He wore it for 4 months and a week. We got about 70% correction. He was moderate. His ear placement improved by 1/2 an inch, originally they were an inch off. So all in all I VERY satisfied with the results, especially since we started way late. I still notice it a little in the back, but it is such an improvement over what it was. He actually tolerated it very well! I am so proud of him! He is the kind of kid that hates to have anything on his head too. But it didn't seem to bother him. Hope our story gives you hope! It's not too late! Guest guest
Hi and Soenke, My daughter Tatijana started her band treatment at 19 months. She is now almost 21 months and we have seen great improvment. Of the flat spot that we had there is only a small one left and the side that buldged is no longer bulging. I am very happy with the improvement that we have had already. Also more than just her head shape has improved. Her attitude, speech, and comprehension have improved a lot as well. We saw quite a bit of improvement within the first week because she had just hit a growth spurt as she got the band. She did really well with adjusting to the band. I thought we would have a lot of problems because she hated to wear hats and she would be able to figure out how to get the band off. At first a few times she tried to take it off but once we got her interested in something she left it alone. She didn't have any problems with sleeping with it on either. Now when I try to take it off her to clean and redecorate she gets mad at me and wants it right back on. Well I hope this helps. If you have any further questions I would be happy to help if I can. Guest guest
Hi ! Welcome! My daughter, , started her treatment at 12 month (exactly one week after her first birthday). She has been in her DOC band for 7 weeks, and our Dr and Ortho is very happy with the results. She will be in it for a few more months. I can see a change in her forehead, and a little rounding in the back. I would love to show you pictures, but unfortunately, we don't have a scanner and the CD we got back from processing had a defect in it -- so I can't load any pictures. did so much better it the band than what I had expected. She hates hats, so I thought it would be hard for her to get used to. She had no problem at all as far as keeping it on and she even asks to have it back on when it's time to clean it! I hope I have helped! (Mom to )
