Guest guest
Tami, My advice is to call the orthotist. Tell him/her what happened over night and tell him/her that you are concerned that it could do damage to his eye. If they tell you not to worry ask them to explain fully why you should not be concerned about it. I would keep after them until they give you a satisfactory answer and explanation. Guest guest
Hi, I know this has been mentioned before but I have forgotten the responses. My son has been in a helmet for almost 2 weeks and we have had a lot of problems with it shifting on his forehead. Even when it was adjusted too tight it still shifted. Well, after our 3rd adjustment it still shifts and this morning when he got up he couldn't even fully open his eye for a couple hours because the sideburn had obviously been on his eye all night. Could this be causing permanent damage to the eye socket. Both the orthotist and my neurosurgeon told me just to try to keep turning it back but obviously I can't when he sleeps. Any advice? Thanks Tami & Luke
Guest guest
Hi Tami- We are noticing the same thing with our son Graham - Saturday will make two weeks that he's been in the band and it is the FIRST question I will ask when we go for the weekly fitting.... it is really bothering both myself and my husband that it keeps shifting over his eye.... I'll let you know what we find out. - > Hi, I know this has been mentioned before but I have forgotten the > responses. Guest guest
Tami: I'd try to get in for an adjustment ASAP. I realize that they have tried to fix it, but this doesn't sound right, especially if the eye remains "squished" after a few hours! If they can't fix the problem or give you any good reason why you shouldn't worry, tell them you want a new one! Can your clinician check with a colleague to see what someone else's insight is?
