Guest guest
e: Sounds like you had a great day!! Glad to hear you like your new little "Southern Peach!" We thought that would be horrible during this casting (he' much more opinionated than he was 3 months ago) but surprisingly he was kept occupied with the cheerios and juice that daddy was offering. Food was the KEY for us this time. What a relief! We are just thrilled with our new orthotist - she's a little Texas peach with the friendliest little drawl (to all the Southerners in the group, that's new for us Yankees way up north)! We were always happy with our other orthotist, Dave, but he wasn't as outspoken as Carla is (she fits in much better with our family - if you know what I mean - blah, blah, blah...). I could never tell if Dave knew a whole lot because he spent a lot of time listening. That's greatand all, but I was kinda looking for some dialogue; does that make sense? Imagine that, me saying that a man "listens toomuch". Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it! Carla seems extremely knowledgeable about plagio and was very happy to share her experiences and feelings about treatment. She recently attended an orthotic seminar where plagio was a key topic of discussion. She well aware of all about the other treatment options (DOC, STAR, etc.) and firmly believes in her product and its success. That's nice to hear, from a parents' perspective. She was also familiar with some of the new techniques (like the STARscanner that the lady from Orthomerica posted to Kendra). I was VERY impressed! Although the helmet is designed as a less dynamic treatment compared to the DOC & STAR, she's planning to treat quite aggressively. That will mean more trips for fittings, but it'll certainly be worth it - plus it's closer! His new helmet should be ready by late next week or early the following. Carla projects that we'll need another couple of months in the helmet dependent on his growth. So will be in his helmet for his first birthday (we were originally hoping to be finished by then), but he'll have a beautifully round head for the rest of his life!If anyone has questions or doubts about continuing treatment, feel free to Email me - I probably know EXACTLY how you feel (been there, done that and happy we're continuing)! Thanks for listening (sorry it's long)e 4/00 (1st band 12/00 - 3/01, recast yesterday)Gaylord, Michigan
