Guest guest
We've seen a neurosurgeon at AI DuPont and we've seen a neurologist at an office in Wilmington, DE. The neurosurgeon is the one that gave us the script for the band and the neurologist is the one who is ordering the brain scan. The neurologist thinks that the band won't work and my son will have to have reconstructive surgery, but the neurosurgeon never said anything about that. I'm so confused!!! It seems like you're already in the market for 2nd--and 3rd--opinions. From what I've read, when babies started showing up with plagiocephaly in greater numbers, doctors at first thought they all needed surgery because the only babies with plagio they'd seen before all had craniosynostosis. Has craniosynostosis been ruled out? I can't imagine your neurosurgeon would neglect doing that before writing the prescription for the band. What does the neurosurgeon say about the neurologist's fears? Good luck--someone else recommended Dr. Bartlett at CHOP, and I'll just add that I was glad we sought a second opinion from him. , Conor's mom
