That is certainly something that would cause concern for me. Here is what I would do. I would call the orthotist back and if possible get in to see him/her again. Then I would point out the flat spot and explain just what you explained to us. If he/she still doesn't seem concerned ask them to explain why they aren't! You will probably know from the explanation whether you feel they really know what they are talking about or if they are just blowing smoke. If you are uncomfortable with the explanation see the neuro for sure. That is what I would do, but if you are not comfortable approaching the orthotist again, then go ahead and consult the specialist. You need to talk to someone about it if for nothing else but your peace of mind!! Let us know what happens!!
