Hi Dominika and everyone!

I read this and it is good that plagio is getting some attention!!!

However, the line that reads " If it is positional, only cosmetic

problems will occur. " concerns me!!!!! How could a good pediatrician

generalize like that???!!!! Your child MAY only have cosmetic

problems IF the degree of plagio is MILD..seems like he could have

said somthing like that instead. I think HIS wording is quite

careless. Anyway, just my thoughts!!!

I agree, ! I like to see articles on plagio too but stuff like

this bugs me. It actually hurts the cause, as far as insurance

claims people and general understanding of the condition. We are

treating Genna because the doctors told us it was NOT merely

cosmetic! And Genna is more on the mild end of the spectrum. We

would not have gone forward with treatment if had been a purely

cosmetic issue.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but there is also a

plagio article in the April issue of Better Homes and Gardens.

Basically, it says the American Academy of Pediatrics has recently

modified its " Back to Sleep " campaign to instruct parents to switch

the infant's head from side to side each night. I sure wish somebody

had told us to do this from day one (which was only 9.5 months ago).

By the time our ped mentioned repositioning when G was 3-4 months

old, her head was already flattened and she wouldn't stay put when I

repositioned her. The article also stresses the importance of tummy

time.

I feel like some idiot doctor at the AAP owes me $3000.
