Guest guest
I recently stared my son on Petizide and HNzyme....I have given them serparately and together, and keeps getting stomach aches. It seems to really be cutting his appetite as well. If he takes them for breakfast, and at lunch time...he just about won't eat anymore that day. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions? Try AFP Peptizyde and the SCD version of Zyme Prime. Those do not have papain or bromelain, and some kids do not tolerate papain/bromelain. Guest guest
Marie, If you call or email houston they will send you samples of the capsules and chewables. we do both at my house. i offer the chewable then if he refuses it, the capsule goes in his drink before his meal. cheryl -- Blessings Jack, Cheryl and Kile Killman When you get to where there is nothing left but God in your life, you then realize he was all you ever really needed. ---- Tamara Kuhn <tkuhn1@...> wrote: ============= We do the chewables and my very, very picky PDD-NOS takes them fine. I've seen much smaller capsules to teach your child to swallow than the Houston capsules. I would say a med in size is Houston. My 5 year old swallows anything with no problems. I would say pick up something like a vitamin C capsule, I got mind at Kirkman's, small, and see if you can get capsules down. That way something any one can use just in case they don't go down! I agree, so frustrating. On the CFGF diet. We have a more extreme diet with food allergies. There are GFCF chicken nuggets, Ians, spaghetti with safe pasta, hamburgers and FF (I make home made FF) , I make safe ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, tacos, barbeques, pretty good basic every day foods. Of course there are soups to make, baked chicken and baked potatoes, roast with carrots and potatoes in the crock pot, lots of good stuff. Join POFAKS, search, great source with food allergies and great menu ideas and parents to help there with food items. Yell if questions. I'm off to start my roast! Tammy Houston Enzymes We are going to start our son on enzymes (AFP Peptizyde and No Fenol) 1.) Does anyone know how big the capsules are? (We have never tried swallowing capsules with our 5yr old, but if they are small enough, I think he could do it). 2.) Do most of you do capsules or powder? 3.) If powder, how do you dispense...sprinkling on food or mixed with a liquid? 4.) What is the difference in the powders with and or without cellulose? These items are expensive, so I want to make sure to get my monies worth with the right ones. We have SO many intolerence and phenol issues in the house. We are down to only 4 foods he will eat on the GFCF diet and it is scaring me. We are regressing back to almost 3 years ago..so this is another avenue I want to pursue to pull him out. Thank you all so very much! Marie
Guest guest
Even with the capsules you can pull them apart and sprinkle them on food, or mix in a drink. Also you can stick the capsule in a spoonful of applesauce and see if he can take it that way. HTH Rhonda in CA

Guest guest
I always thought that you needed to give enzymes 30 mins before they eat. My son is taking the Kirkman enzymes, but I am always concerned they won't take effect because he never finished the drink I put them in 30 mins prior to his meal but rather throughout or 30 mins after his meal...is this ok? > > Even with the capsules you can pull them apart and sprinkle them on food, or > mix in a drink. YOu can give them with the meal if they are out of the capsule, the 30 mins before was for whole caps in cases where digestion of the cap was slower Mandi in UK
