Guest guest
Hi everyone, I wonder if the reason my three children, now of which were premmie, all ended up with some degree of plagio (long, narrow head, some metopic and bicornial ridging but no premature fusing) is because that maybe they have more easily deformed/softer heads than normal. My daughter is in the midst of being diagnosed with ectodermal dysplasia (where there are problems with at least 2 of the following - hair, nails, skin, teeth, sweat glands, includes other abnormalities). I found skull shape abnormalities on the list of possible involvements. Now, I am thinking that maybe the plagio is related to the ED. My plastic surgeon thought that it was a bit of a stretch ... but hey, genetics aren't his area of expertise. Anyone know of ED? I have to wait until Steph finishes at the paediatric dentist before a diagnosis and referral to the genetist can be made. But I was wondering if there was other ancedotal info out there. Guest guest
Joanne: I have never heard of ED, but I don't think you should rule out the possibility of it being connected. I can see how it COULD be, since they're talking about the "harder" parts of the body!
