Guest guest
Everyone on the list, please go now and find any mercury thermometer and dispose of them properly (toxic waste collection center), before they break, which they will. Guest guest
If the line that you " read " is silver, it's mercury. Red is alcohol, I believe. Lila > > How can I tell if my thermometer has mercury in it?
Guest guest
And get rid of those energy saving light bulbs too, and any old furnace therostats in old houses. Change them out for the new programable ones. Then take the old one and the lightbulbs, thermometers and such to the hazardous waste site in your town. I have also found that many of my son's toys from china, when we went to change the batteries that came with it, had mercury batteries instead of NiCad's. Bad thingy if one of them batteries goes bad and breaks open. > > > > i just broke mercury themoneter in my kitchen mercury everywhere my > > son allready mercury toxic what do i do.. > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com > The most personalized portal on the Web! >
Guest guest
If it's digital it doesn't have mercury. If what rises as the temp goes up looks " silver " it's mercury.
