Guest guest
I found that my son went potty with chelation. He really unload on the first two days of a round. Otherwise if it worries you, give children's senna once a day before bed. You can also give more magnesium and make sure to be actively treating yeast on her rounds. I think metals was the reason my son could not go potty in the first place. She is dairy free right? > > Listmates, > I want to chelate my daughter, but she does not have daily BM's. Guest guest
-Oh also, Andy had said previously that this was not an issue. Being constipated will not repoison her in the way most think. It was on his radio interview with Autism One from last january. You may wish to look it up and listen to it. It's about an hour long but worth the information. -- In , " curealexis001 " <curealexis001@...> wrote: > > Listmates, > I want to chelate my daughter, but she does not have daily BM's. Guest guest
My opinion- very dangerous. Have you tried doing a flush with magnesium oxide and/or high dose Vit. C? She needs to have at the very least 1 bm per day. Let us know if you need more ideas or specifics. > > Listmates, > I want to chelate my daughter, but she does not have daily BM's. Guest guest
Look in the archives, Andy just answered this, is not dangerous to chelate with constipation. Certainly preferable for the child to have a bm everyday, but will not cause regression. Pat, have you tried Oxypowder? [ ] Re: Anyone chelating w/out daily BM's? My opinion- very dangerous. Guest guest
I completely agree with . Trying to detox someone who is unable to excrete toxins efficiently, I don't see how it can be anything but dangerous. I've heard reports over and over again from parents where their child is so constipated and regressing until they finally have a BM. It is not just redistribution, it's the stool creating more toxins as it decays inside. I know when I don't go daily, I am more irritable. I can't imagine trying to chelate on top of that. I also agree with that Oxypowder works wonders. My son was super constipated and it worked a little TOO well the first time. After that, it just helped to keep him regular. It's great stuff. Other things that help us are extra mag, aloe vera juice (awesome!), vitamin C, flax seeds, EFA's, Liver Life, fresh lemon juice (or fresh squeezed lemonade, apple juice, taurine, and coffee (if nothing else works this makes him go within an hour). Oh and antifungals cause many times he's constipated from yeast. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I also agree that chelating without daily BM's is dangerous. It probably depends somewhat on the chelating, but that still doesn't mean it's safe. I'm using TD DMPS and DMPS releases metals mostly through stool rather than urine accordingly to my doctor. We've also seen that from test results. However, for some time I wasn't drinking enough water while chelating. Therefore I wasn't urinating as much as I should have been while chelating. Once I switched doctors, the new doctor explained this to me and drinking more water so I was urinating more often made the world's difference. So I feel that both urinating and regular bm's are very important while chelating. Guest guest
Hi , " When an inappropriate chelator or schedule is used, this may be the explanation people use to rationalize the regression. I have seen that many, many times. " I was actually referring to constipation in general. Not necessarily related to chelation. Constipation has caused regressions in kids who aren't even chelating. And I can't imagine sticking a chelator on top of that constipation which is already so aggravating. Don't get me wrong, I agree that A.C's protocol for prescription chelators is a real good one. And I agree that there will be less aggravations when the chleation protocol is appropriate. But that doesn't mean I agree with everything Andy says. I wasn't able to find his specific post in regards to chelation and constipation, even after looking in the archives so maybe I'm misunderstanding what was said. I really hope so. What is her yeast protocol like? Those two were the most common causes of constipation for my kids, especially because certain supplements caused magnesium deficiency and/or yeast overgrowth. >>Is anyone chelating their child without having daily > BM's and if so any big wow's or regression? Also, can this be > dangerous and so much chelator is doing in and hardly any coming out? I think a lot of it depends on which chelator you use, and how it excretes the metals. If you use a chelator that excretes primarily thru the bm, then it will probably be a problem. If your chelator excretes primarily thru the urine, not so much of a problem. But finding and correcting the cause of the constipation is very important. Dana
Guest guest
I have stopped chelating my 5 year daughter for now. She was so constipated that she had a hard bm with blood even with mineral oil. She has finally started going daily again, but cannot control the mineral oil coming out. She regressed a bit, but I think it was because she could not focus on anything with all the pain. Now I am trying to retrain her to not fear having a bm. I am going to buy Oxypowder and try again in a few weeks. She was on Miralax for years because of withholding so I do not want to go that direction again. Her rectum is so enlarged that it is dangerous for her. I consider chelation a long term endevor so there will be issues like this.
