Guest guest
- I'm so sorry to hear about the New doctors outlook for Conor. I would continue to go with the helmet and hope for the best.If the orthotist thinks that there could still be some correction if any, what will it hurt to keep trying. It's not like it is hurting him to wear the helmet.I'm sure your son is probably just as attached to it as my daughter. Even if there is no furthur correction at least you will know you did your best at trying everything posible. I also saw a Dr at CHOP for my daughter Abigail. Not to say that he was not a great Dr, but he left me with a feeling that Abigail was just a child with plagio. He seemed like it was not challenging enough. Almost as if we were wasting his time. Well If I was in your situation I would definately go with trying the helmet for a little while longer. Keep us informed.Goodluck. He was a bit reserved but tons warmer than our neurosurgeon--so I guess it's all relative. I definitely get the impression from the surgeons I've dealt with over the last year (Conor's head and my lower abdomen were in a struggle during labor that no one won, and now I might have to have surgery) that if you're not a candidate for surgery, you're not that interesting. (The surgeon I saw for my problems actually dismissed me after misdiagnosing me--but that's another story.) Thanks for writing--we're keeping our fingers crossed that we can get even a tiny bit more improvement from the helmet. The orthotist has been a godsend. We'll hope for the best, and no matter what happens, we have a beautiful, healthy child. , Conor's mom, Central PA
