Regarding tests that helped determine that chelation was effective, firstly, the fecal samples originally showed 5 different heavy metals near the 1st standard deviation and 8 different heavy metals exceeding the first standard deviation (>68%). Of the latter, two were almost at the 2nd sd (95%) and one, nickel, was well past the 2nd sd. As we progressed, several metals would decrease and some would increase, for example, once nickel significantly decreased, there was a spike in beryllium, The next sample would show a decrease in beryllium and an increase in something else. All in all, the chelator bound with the first thing it ran into and overall, everything was lowering. Blood and urinalysis would indicate improvement in his body's ability to function and was the basis for any changes in supplemental protocol. These were the quantitative tests. The body slowly moved, here and there, in line within the realm of normal biological function. As his body began to improve in these abilities, the behavioral therapies became more effective in teaching him the things most children learn during their first few years of life. His behavior moved, week by week toward what one would expect a typical child of his age to be. It became our task to begin backing off of the micro-analysis of his every action looking for problems and improvement because his behavior moved closer and closer to the gray area of what could be considered within the realm of normal behavior and what was not. Clear at the extreme, but not at the margin. -- In , Floyd <fmorgan@...> wrote: > > Hi, > > What chelater did you use? What tests did you use to determine that the chelation was effective? Guest guest
Interesting as Dmsa causes excretion mainly through the kidneys so it would be urine that could/should have been tested. Great story, btw, congratulations to you and your boy and your family. Very hopeful. Guest guest
My facts may be a little foggy, but I believe it was Dr. Amy Holmes I heard describing chelation with her son and finding no additional mercury excreted in the urine when ALA was added. When his feces was tested, there was a significant increase. At any rate, we were dealing with 18 different heavy metals, all showing significant excretion via feces. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I was a bit disapointed in reading the files about how long some > > > > > > people > > > > > > > have had to chelate. Guest guest
Mandi why don't you like EDTA, I know both Dr. Yasko and Dr. Gordon use it and I am just curious what some people find is a problem with it. Also always saw more in fecal when using the TD DMPS which Andy said should not be s but it was Mandi in UK who got to mention Counting Rules and low frequent dosing protocol at DAN presetnation last weekend and show a fecal metals with huge dumps and point out the dose was only 25mg DMSA and 25mg ALA (wink!) WOW. I thought I felt the earth rumble and crack and saw the sky turn red this weekend, but I had no idea why! Another mystery solved. ;-) Good work, Mandi! I hope you had a marvellous time. >>>Tee hee - I did get to have a 1 on 1 with an IV wielding famous DAN and suggested IV's make catching samples easy peasy and how simple it is to look so impressive to less experienced parents when all the focus is on expensive labs and not whats happening to the kids.................and I can match that with my itty bitty oral doses, he was lost for words - only momentarily of course, I said you do have to dose more frequently and smiled. Since they seem to have been doing it for so long, if it was really quicker and more effective they should be lining up the recovered kids by now. There are lots of really really committed DAN doctors and I was impressed at just how many, its a pity the gung ho attititude of a few spoils it. What scares me the most is the whole biomed movement going down the tubes in the media if something bad happens again, poor little Tariq was not seen by a DAN and the mistake was drug error but if we have another tradegy and the doc does appear on the DAN list and perhaps the think tank and presents at conferences that will give the media a field day. The tribute to Bernie Rimland on Saturday night was totally awesome, tears all around at the end - how quickly all he worked for could be destroyed. The DAN detox protocol does not (and I am sure will not) include any IV treatments for chelation. Mandi the Motor Mouth from whom you should not take lessons on how to win friends in the bar! Guest guest
No you are correct, I forgot about the Ala which is excreted through the feces. Still great story again. Guest guest
It's contraindicated for folks with mercury issues. S S Mandi why don't you like EDTA, I know both Dr. Yasko and Dr. Gordon use it and I am just curious what some people find is a problem with it. Guest guest
You may not " win friends at the bar " , but you do on here.
