His behavior indicates that the dose is slightly high. Andy's protocol usually starts at doses of 1/8 mg/lb and your son has started at 1/4 mg/lb. > Also, I am wondering about timing of supplements, like are there any > that should not be taken together (I'm thinking candex and probiotics > is a no-no combo), and what should be taken on an empty/full stomach. > > And lastly, is there anything that I might be missing that might help > my boy's mood. Possibly adrenal cortex extract. Try a MB12 holiday, then raise the dose gradually to see what dose he can tolerate. See the supplement file in the files section. Guest guest
In addition to a lower dose, check his supplements against the list for chelation given by Andy. Is he on all the minerals and vitamins that he should be? Does he need adrenal support for the meltdowns? Is he taking enough vitamin C to support chelation? Do not give candex and probiotics together. They should be 4 hours apart or the candex kills the probiotics. we don't see much difference if full or empty stomach. Just don't give zinc on empty stomach it makes people naueaus. Yes, lower the dose and make sure he is getting enough vites and minerals according to weight by Andy's list. these will help support his body. Also, just to note..we do see regressions in between rounds. The key it to minimize it best you can with low dose, but you may not elminate it entirely. Also, watch the yeast, he may need more than candex for chelation. Or more of it. > > We just started chelating, or rather restarted, but this time the > right way. Guest guest
Try GABA to. Say 100 mg a few times a day. Red cheeks is a common phenol intolerance symptom http://www.danasview.net/phenol.htm Do you have a good yeast protocol? The other symptoms might be that http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm > Questions: Should I lower the dosage in response to the behavior? Depends on your supplements. List them, and people can give you info. >>He is on Candex, and multi-vites/mins, GF-CF diet, > some amino acids, omegas, MB-12 sublinguals (the shots made him > crazy), probiotics. My kids required folic acid and carnitine in order to tolerate mB12. My son had major aggression problems with omegas until I added mito cocktail. Guest guest
Thanks Jan and and all who responded, It's nice to have a team of " gone-befores " out there. We were doing 12.5 mg DMSA (I know one of my posts said 25mg, my bad, tired I suppose) but now I've halfed even that. We had a really bad day today, the boy is just really quick to overreact majorly. I have him on all the suggested supps accd to Andy's lists, substituting sublingual mb-12 for the shots. Jan, what " more " can a person use for yeast than Candex? I know we used Nystatin before, but as that is a perscription I'm not sure I can talk the boy's ped into it. Also, specifically what is good for adrenal support, I think that this might be a big issue for us all possibly, especially with the explosive meltdowns. Sometimes we don't even see it coming, adrenal tax all over the place! Thanks again! Blaire > > In addition to a lower dose, check his supplements against the list > for chelation given by Andy. Guest guest
Andy had recomended adrenal cortex glandular for kids with adrenal issues. We use this product successfully and found it essential to chelation or my kids behavior was intolerable. We use grapefruit seed extract for yeast. Some use caprylic acid. I know there is a file in the files section for yeast treatments. The nystatin is not good unless it's the powder. The liquid has aluminum in it. > > > > In addition to a lower dose, check his supplements against the list > > for chelation given by Andy. Guest guest
Blaire: I'm coming into this a bit late so if my response has already been addressed, please disregard: Going on a yeast-free diet may help you in your efforts. That would include removing carbs and sugars also known as the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. The yeast feed on the sugars which in turn create the craving, etc...
