Guest guest
Oh, Marci! I can't imagine what that must be like for or you! was SO MISERABLE and I can't stand to see him like that! So, there is really no way for me to tell if this will help at all...no way to really tell if it won't. UGGH! Our ped is out-of-network with our insurance; the office call goes toward our deductible, but they do pay their contract rate for the routine vaccinations. We've looked into other insurance companies where our ped is in-network, but the rates are so astronomical or they are terrible when you read the fine print.... My husband's employer does not provide health insurance (or anything else, for that matter!) and we pay a fortune out-of-pocket. It is actually better for us as a family to keep our ped out-of-network and pay the deductible than it is to change to a different insurance company. I know it seems odd to keep a ped where the insurance is out-of- network, but she has been nothing but straightforward and accurate with both of our children - and knew about plagio enough to point it out before I got the chance to at 's 2 month check...and reposition...and that if repositioning wasn't effective, there was " helmet " therapy available! And she diagnosed my daughter with a blood infection at 26 months ( was only 2 weeks old!)....and I'm so glad she was accurate because it was pure hell (3 phlebotomists and 1.5 hours later...)to get an ounce (yes, an ounce!) of blood out of her little arm to confirm the Dx. And as most of us have found...when you find a good ped it is such a good thing...and all of the insurance hassles we all seem to have to go through in all this...sure has been an education! Again, thanks for letting me know your experience with the prevnar...I'm not sure what I want to do, so I guess I'll ask my ped what she thinks, and take her advice. This group has been such a help with many things! I sure hope doesn't have any more ear infections!
