Guest guest Posted March 8, 2001 Report Share Posted March 8, 2001 Hi, my son is also 7 months old and his helmet is due in this week. Just so you don't feel alone I also have Cigna who denied us. They said it was not a medical necessity. I am working on an appeal right now. I got a note from the craniofacial dr. we saw. I didn't bother asking my pediatrician for one as he also does not think my son needs a helmet. (He has never used them for his patients). In the Files section there is a file that has successful appeal letters from other parents along with other insurance help. I am also worried about him adjusting but most all the babies on this site have done just fine. I think it is harder on the parents! Good luck.
