Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have missed everyone, but my life has been nuts. With 5 kids, we have had every virus out there at least 2or 3 times:0( I hope we are on the mends now. Mac who is turing 4 this weekend has pneumonia (sp) so I hope this will be the last thing that happens here. Say a prayer. Sam is doing pretty well. He had his band off a few days because of having a fever but he is better now. We went to the orthotist and plastic surgeon this past week. No growth this month, but they are still happy with the results so far. The dr. said he thinks Sam should stay in his band till about 15 months (that means he will have to wear is 6 months total) He turns 1 April 11th. I really wasn't prepared for that, but I think he thinks Sams sutures are 'sticky' and he wants to keep the head shape rounding as long as possible. So unless he leans to take it off(Amy I wont tell him about your baby...) we will keep going forward. Does anyone had experience with bands in the hot summer. I did get the 90% alchol (pick it up today) so I hope that helps. Well, I have missed you all. I am still trying to catch up on posts. I wonder how many years until my time is my own. Guest guest
, I saw your Sam's photos in the Files. I was wondering how things are going as my has plagio that was originally feared to be sagittal cs. is being cast for a helmet today, so I guess he will be about 5.5 months when he gets it. I am not sure what Sam's head looks like from other directions, but what did people say to you when you said about the helmet/band? Even though he has a long narrow head, I get a lot of 'oh I can't see the problem with that', 'what is the big deal' from family/friends. Having said that the lactation consultant, plastic surgeon, paediatrican, doctor, other para-medical people in our life, all mention it. Were you told the consequences of not banding?
