I agree, I want a law or a ruling that says that from hereon out you have to

identify grapefruit seed extract as GFSE and grape seed extract as GSE. I think

GFSE stole GSE's acronym. Any ideas?

You might want to clarify if you meant grape seed extract or

grapefruit seed extract. The letters " GSE " appear on the bottle of

grapefruit seed extract.

Yes, this suggestion has been mentioned several times on several

different message boards, and it makes perfect sense. The problem is,

that the GSE on the bottle means grapefruit seed extract, and I doubt

Nutribiotic will be changing its bottles any time soon. So using GSE

to mean grapefruit seed extract will avoid problems when people

actually try to purchase it.

No, , he doesn't mention ascorbic acid (at least in the

section about HCL) - just betaine (or glutamic) HCL, raw apple cider

vinegar, or lemon juice - but there's no reason that I can see why

ascorbic acid wouldn't do the same thing, and Andy says as much by

recommending it and/or enzymes for people with " all low " hair tests.

Willis does mention that proper stomach acidity is needed to process

calcium. I knew that, but I always think, " gee, the HCl and the

calcium are just neutralizing each other " . Lol, I'm not the

brightest bulb on the tree. :-)

Rene

> Rene does this paper mention using ascorbic acid to raise HCL

levels? I have a copy of the new version but my computer really

resisted printing all of it out. It was my remembrance that it did

not say to use ascorbic acid but that was a big help here as when we

went to buffered C it drove all her essential elements down to

unacceptable levels.

Just wanted to update that I started giving her a " shot " of apple

cider vinegar right before each meal and that's helping her

digestion. She has not had a reaction to anything since. We

started NAET today so we will see how that goes, and I know there are

other supplements for her immune system to introduce still, but I'm

so grateful for the info to dose her with ACV before meals. It's

definately helping her.

That is wonderful Wyndie! Maybe that is the the main part of the

problem for her, not enough stomach acid. I started taking ACV about

5 months ago before every meal and I absolutely LOVE the stuff.. It

completely eliminated carb cravings, helps me digest my food, never

again do I get that bloated feeling after eating. It has also helped

me a lot with my allergies. I'm so glad it is helping your little

girl.

Hey Sheresa,

How much ACV are you taking? You're making me want to rush to the

kitchen and glug some down!

Hi Nell

I take 2 Tbls. before each meal (I splash a little water in with it

so it's not so strong). Another added unexpected benefit is that I

have lost 7 lbs since I started it! (7 of the 10, that is, that I

had gained in the last 2 years after turning 40). So...... not

really understanding everything that it is doing, but I'm happy to

keep chugging it. The best thing is how much better I feel after

eating.

I'm curious...7 pounds weight loss during what period of time?

(Who has done aerobics for half hour every day for the last two weeks and not

lost weight)

I am all over that! I've got at least 7 lbs of post-kid,

messed-up-endocrine belly fat I'd like to disappear. So before dinner

tonight I took 3 tsps and then made everyone else take some. Lots of

shrieking at the table and dh saying " Why is Mom torturing us! "

I have to say I felt great after eating, and kind of...perky!

Thanks!

About 5 months time, as I started it at the beginning of the year.

Really was an unexpected pleasant surprise!

I've never been able to lose weight. Fortunately never really needed

to until I hit 40 and seemingly gained 5-6 lbs overnight, then a few

more the next year. I'm not sure why the ACV caused weight loss,

maybe just alkalinizing the body or something?? But, I'm not

complaining that's for sure. Definitely worth a try!!

Yep, it is rather addicting. I can't stand to eat a meal now without

my ACV. I even had my husband taking it for a while, but he wienied

out saying that it burned his tummy. I personally don't think he

really gave it a good try and would benefit from it since he does have

occassional heartburn, gassiness, etc....

Hi,

The digestive bitters I'm using on my boy has:

dandelion dry root, gentian, meadowsweet, agrimony, and deylon

cinnamon. Tastes woeful, he has 1/2tsp liquid per meal with the

sauerkraut. My son eats anything (literally) so it isn't an issue

for him.

Well, with all this positive talk about it, I went and bought a bottle

this morning. I took one teaspoon at 11am, and then ate a sandwich.

About 10 minutes after taking it, my eyes felt gritty, and my eyes and

nose were swollen. This is one of my typical allergy reactions. I

put a cold washcloth on my eyes. I had to use Vicks Sinex to open my

nose. I went for my asthma inhaler, but fortunately the swelling did

not continue beyond the eyes and nose/sinuses.

Regarding the taste, I think I would rather drink straight GSE than

this stuff, NASTY!

It did seem to give me a little more energy in the early afternoon,

when I usually get a little droopy.

It is now 8 hours after I took it, and one eye still feels a little

gritty.

I did take it with No-Fenol and Zyme Prime.

Well, rats. I wonder if the brand matters? I'm using Bragg's organic

ACV, it smells really good to me.

LOL I'm drinking it straight off the spoon and loving it! Although I

do have to make a face and hop around squeaking for a moment.

Oh that's terrible! So sorry you had an allergic reaction to it. I

have terrible allergies and it has actually helped my allergies, very

strange.

It does have a strong taste, but I just splash a little water with it

and don't find it offensive at all. I guess because it makes me feel

so much better after eating. Then again, I don't take any enzymes so

maybe the enzymes are already doing for you what the ACV does for me??

Just another example of how things affect people differently, I guess.

Take care

Wow Dana....I am so sorry....that's nasty....what do you think

caused it...are you allergic to apples or yeast...or something maybe

on the apples? I hate allergies!!!

We have some issues with apples at our house...so am wondering if

rice vinegar would do the same thing? Also what is the reasoning

behind this..we use cranberry for several people....but a couple of

the little guys are very allergic to cranberries....I noticed that

the ones that can tolerate the cranberries have less yeast issues

than the ones that can't... Would hydrochloric acid do the same

thing??? Or is it something else..

Thanks

Dana,

I wonder how ACV ranks on the phenol scale. Haven't you had trouble with

phenols? It may also be a problem for those with too much stomach acid.

It smells good, but tastes nasty. I bought store brand, but the label

did not indicate any additives or fillers.

I drank it straight off the spoon, and I almost threw up. My eye

still feels a little gritty, and it has been almost 2 days. I will

probably try a lower dose this weekend, to confirm the problem.

Would another type of vinegar work?

No problems with apples or yeast, so not sure exactly what the problem

was.

It would be nice to know if another type of vinegar might be comparable.
