I'm taking HNI digestive enzymes. Which foods, specifically, cause this problem? Might also be something with amino acids, at least that is what came to mind. We're vegan and I'm gf, so we eat a fair amount of brown rice. The most recent obvious occurance (sp?) was a meal of brown (Jasmine) rice, broccoli, adzuki beans, various spices, and orange-ade (watered down orange juice). In the beginning, I thought my son did okay with white rice but not brown or any other variety of rice. I learned later that he did not tolerate rice at all. I removed rice and corn for a week, then added back each one individually. Both of them caused major wild hyper, basically manic giggling, sleep issues, very spacy and no attention span, etc. Enzymes did not help this problem. Only ALA chelation plus a few supplements helped. My son also did not tolerate anything orange or green until the end of ALA chelation plus supplements to correct his body's inability to convert carotenes, so the broccoli and orange juice [especially oranges and carrots] would have caused major problems. He also did not do well with spices, altho tolerated a few with No-Fenol enzyme. Things were MUCH improved when I added back wheat with enzymes. Good luck. There are several situations that I've described as feeling like I can't get enough oxygen (to my lungs or muscles), particularly when bike riding uphill (and feeling of excessive lactic acid). Recent oximeter readings (both resting and after exercise) were fine 97% or 98%. The B complex I'm taking contains biotin, but I've been taking it only in the morning (and I have the cold, sleepiness most noticably after supper) so I'll start taking it in the evening as well as morning and see if that helps. In posting about IP6 for someone today, I was reminded that IP6 is extracted from rice bran. And IP6 is a demineralizer. And when my minerals are low, I get really sleepy.
