Guest guest
I will send you some saved stories from the chat site. They will come to your private e-mail. Aletha [low dose naltrexone] Does anyone have compiled information regarding LDN & Crohn's? Hi everyone,I have a good friend, who is suffering terribly from Crohn's disease. She just got out of the hospital (again) and is recovering from yet another round of steroids. Nothing that she has been prescribed has been successful so far and I'm trying, desperately, to get her to talk to her doctor about LDN. She's finally agreed to take information to her doctor, if I pull it together for her.I've got the clinical trials information regarding LDN and Crohn's, but I'd love to be able to provide Crohn's sufferers' personal success stories with LDN to her, so that SHE can see that it is helping others with Crohn's. I've invited her to join this group, but she's not a computer person.I know I can search the message board posts for ones regarding Crohn's, but I've tried that with other things in the past and have found it VERY frustrating and time consuming. I'm hoping that someone has collected stories from Crohn's sufferers regarding their experience taking LDN and that they'd be willing to share that compilation with me, so that I can share it with her.If you have such a compilation of information and would be willing to share it, please email me.Thank you so much,

Guest guest
,I have Ulcerative Colitis and tonight will mark 4 weeks on LDN 4.5mg. I have been in the hospital and on and off steroids and now all I'm taking is the LDN and have controlled bowel movements. I'm not 100% better yet, but I'm much better then I was before the LDN. I had a flare up before I found out about LDN and had to get back on steroids. I was on them for a month then phased off of them. When I phased off of them I started doing worse. Once I was phased off of the steroids I started the LDN and started to notice improvement. For me the progress was kind of slow compared to some other results I've heard. Today I think I'm doing a lot better. I still have a small amount of blood when I go to the bathroom but it's definitely getting better. I'm also watching my diet and keeping a journal of what foods seem to work for me and which foods upset my stomach and only stick to the foods that don't seem to bother me. I just got a book called "The New Eating Right For A Bad Gut" by Scala, Ph. D. which seems to be pretty good so far. Someone from this group actually recommended this book.Jefflow dose naltrexone From: otterpup1967@...Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2008 23:11:58 +0000Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Does anyone have compiled information regarding LDN & Crohn's? Guest guest
Hi Jeff, I sent you a private post in the beginning of mars, you had just started up with LDN then. I am so glad to find it look's like it worked for you too. Today another person with U.C that I know told me she has started up, she has now been on LDN for 10 days and she just uses the bathroom a couple of times each day compared to 15 - 20 times 10 days ago. It's important to remember one thing: If you have some personal triggers that you know you have got flares of earlier, don't try to use them no either!! Mine is alcohol. Stronger drinks as to say. They should always be a BIG NO-NO for me from last weekend and ever after! Got a flare, but luckily I went better quite fast. Another person ate some chocolate (I think quite much), she got a bad flare. So take care, think of what you eat. As I suggested to you Jeff: Makers diet is great for all of us with Crohns or Ulcerative Colitis. Eat organic. Clean food. Guest guest
Hi Zahavi, My friend is well beyond " mild " crohn's, but I'll pass the name of this book on to her, with hopes that it will help! Thanks for the input! > > > try to read the book The Probiotics Revolution by huffnagle/ > with a mild crohn it helped me to eat things i did not tolerate for > years. > >
Guest guest
Zahavi and , As long as we're off topic, for severe cases of Crohn's you should know about rice-based oral rehydration. In a newsletter called Hydration there was a case report of a Crohn's patient who had severe symptoms until she began to use a rice-based ORS product recommended by her gastroenterologist, Darlene . TC's case was so bad she was considering a last resort; hooking her up to a permenant, portable IV device that would deliver electroylytes though a pump. TC starting drink 2 liters of the product plus a lot of water and she says " I have a nice life now " according to the article. I have a paper written by Dr titled " Oral Rehydration Solution: A " Low-Tech " Oft Neglected Therapy " . The paper discusses ORS for Crohn's and short bowel (including rice-based ORS) and I would be happy to email it to anyone interested.
