Guest guest
I too am a hypothyroid/adrenal fatigue sufferer. Use a similiar product - Nutri adrenal Extra. Take it with food in your tummy! A dose in the AM, then a dose in the afternoon. You don't want to go much later than 2:00, it might keep you awake too late. I would suggest starting with a low dose, and gradually increase until your feeling good. Sometimes starting out on your correct dose, will make you a bit dizzy or naussious, so go slow. You will feel better. It got me off Wellbutrin. I hated going on the anti-depressants, but I was miserable, to myself, my kids, my hubby. Life is much better now! -Jenna [ ] adrenal cortex dosage/frequency Listmates, Is adrenal cortex dosed by weight? Or by the severity of the adrenal problem? Also, should it be dosed a few times a day or is it fine all at once? Thanks so much for this--my research energy left me an hour ago. My experience was that 1 cap made me anxious, so I would start slow and be on the lookout for worsening of symptoms. That happened when my AF was quite bad, and there are plenty of unanswered questions: did I need supporting supps to make the ACE tolerable, would it have been OK if I had ramped up more slowly, was it the brand? I don't know, because I didn't try it again for a year because it felt so bad. Adrenergize seemed to work better for me for whatever reason, but made n hinky even though I suspect he needs adrenal support. > Or by the severity of the adrenal > problem? Andy suggests giving a lot, even to littles. I think I'd start with 1/4 cap and move up until I saw something one way or the other. > Also, should it be dosed a few times a day or is it fine all > at once? Morning is better. Cortef is dosed 3 or 4 times a day, and I guess you could give ACE a few times a day, not beyond afternoon. Nell
Guest guest
Anita, You start slow and watch for a response. Usually one capsule in the morning. Usually within a few days you are feeling better. You don't need to increase or add more until you notice a decline in feeling well. For us this began to happen the second week after starting one am cap. We then added a second cap in the afternoon. We have been on two caps a day for months now which seems to be working. Some poeple take three or four. It will depend on how much your body needs and how burned your adrenals are. So yes, by conditon not by weight. If one cap makes you jittery, try a half. I was able to start myself and my 11 year old with one cap in the am. My 4 year old we are doing 1/4 cap in the am and slowly going from there. It helped us feel better quite quickly in fact, like within a few days. And now if we forget to take it...it is very obvious... we go rigth back to moody miserable... Taking this allowed me to stop using antidepressants. I don't have panic attacks anymore, and my sensitivity to light is gone. > > Listmates, > > Is adrenal cortex dosed by weight? Guest guest
Hi, Just to be clear adrenal cortex extract comes in two dosages that I know of. Thorne's is 50 mg and Nutricology/Allergy Research's is 250 mg. It can be good to start with the Thorne's and move to the higher dose brand when you need more. Both are pretty good quality as far as I know. W.
Guest guest
This may be kinda OT, but just wanted to share that I use Adrenal Cortex (Nutricology) as well and it completely vanquished my RLS (restless leg syndrome). That was quite a surprise to me, and one I'm so grateful for. I'd been suffering since I was a kid. I take 1 cap in the morning. Occasionally my RLS will flare up at night, usually if it's been a very stressful day and/or I've had too much sugar in the PM. But I just take another cap of ACE and the legs calm down and I'm asleep within about 40 minutes. > > I too am a hypothyroid/adrenal fatigue sufferer. Use a similiar product - Nutri adrenal Extra.
