So far today has been great but yesterday afternoon my six year old son got really angry. He was purposely ignoring what I said so I told him he had to stop using my laptop until he was ready to listen. He hit the laptop with his fist and when I went to unplug it he screamed "NO" and started hitting my back as hard as he could with the sides of his fists. I grabbed his wrists and at that point he started trying to headbutt me and kick me. I let go of him so I could move my laptop so he started on my back again following me through the house so he could continue. I sat the laptop on a folding table so I could call his dad to come home and my son tried to throw a folding chair at me. The whole time he alternated between a high pitched scream and screaming "I HATE YOU" as loud as he could.

After roughly twenty minutes he suddenly snapped out of it and behaved like nothing had happened. He's a;ways been defiant, moody, etc but this was the first time he ever threw anything at meor hit me. I already dread taking him places due to his behavior but tomorrow we are supposed to go to a Mother's Day banquet at church. The dinners are stressful already but after yesterday and his behavior at the last dinner at church I really don't want to go tomorrow. I called his counselor but she still hasn't called back. He has a psychiatry appointment Tuesday but that doesn't help for tomorrow (which is the last function I'm going to until his behavior doesn't leave me so stressed and worn out). Any hints on how to get through tomorrow? The men are serving so I will be dealing with him by myself. Thanks!
