Guest guest
This is such a great idea, thanks, I've been having a hard time with my son being rude and mean to his sister, he can be really mean and fight till he makes her cry, he's really strong and is so spoiled. I don't know what to do sometimes. I'm trying to get him to stop before he get's this mad. I have tried counting and I look him in his eyes and make him be still.. If anyone has a better suggestion let me know, I often send him to his room where he takes it out on his bed and toys.... I am so tired, i don't know what else to do. I was thinking a social story may help with this, but I really don't know how to go about getting started. Can anyone recommend any good social story books. The web address is: http://www.sandbox-learning.com/Default.asp?Page=1 You customize them for your child -- so that your child is the main character in the book. You can even make the picture of the child look like your child. You download the book and print it off immediately after purchasing it. They have books for many different situations. I recently purchased the Pumpkin Patch one. My son's class is going on a field trip today to the Pumpkin Patch. He's really been looking forward to it. We've read the book several times. Last night, the reality of doing something different today set in, and he started saying he didn't want to go to the pumpkin patch. I pulled out that book (which I printed off, put the pages in plastic sheet protector pages and then in a three-prong folder), we read it, and then he said he wanted to go to the pumpkin patch. There are some books about following rules, playing together, getting along with others, etc. Hope this helps!Connie http://www.sewmommy.typepad.com/timothy
Guest guest
Kathy, I am new to the group and have just been watching some of the posts as they come in over the past couple of weeks. I have a 6yo boy that was diagnosed with Aspergers two years ago. Up to this point, it's been pretty managable, however, lately, he has also been going out of his way to torment his sister and we've had a pretty tough time with school (1st grade) this year too. ---- Original Message ---- From: katherin_carter@...
