Guest guest
Ok, I know we all have our own stories, and every one is similar, and at the same time very different. But it just seems that every time we have " one of those days " that we are VERY MUCH ALONE. Today was one of those days at my house. I can totally understand how people can go out to their car and drive away and not come back. Don't look back...live in the desert, the mountains, you name it! I get it, I totally do. I do NOT condone it nor will I ever go that route, but OH MY GAWD do I " get it " !!!!!!!! My 7 yo aspie is just totally OFF lately. He has a lot going on, a lot on his plate, add in health issues, and school starting up in a week, and that equals total meltdowns and rage. We have been going through so much with him, medical-wise. I'm still not 'sold' that he is aspie. He has been at the 50% on everything at every Dr at every eval. I still think that something 'else' is going on with him that causes him to act these ways. He is totally 'normal' one minute then FLIPS OUT the next. We've been working on a dx for stomach issues, and just did a 9-12 month " it's celiac, no it's not, yes it is, no it's not...blood says yes, biopsy says no.... " And now we're back on a regular diet. Ug. I've looked into red dye allergies. Did a trial 2 week without it, noticed him behaving a bit better, but I have an appt with an immunologist Oct 14. So today was just a REEEEEEEeeeeally bad day. 7yo felt the need to " whatever " after everything I said. Insert eye roll before and after each time. He also talked back to everything we said, told him to do, informed him...you name it. He got bumped by his 5 yo sis, and then took a shoe with lightning speed and whaled her up along side the head. She totally just bumped him. He spent a ton of time in his room, and even got a spankin' ((oh Yes I did)) for hitting her with a shoe. As he was getting the one spank...he laughed at me. Then he stayed in his room for a bit, and came out, went outside to her and shoved her for 'getting him in trouble' OMG WTF!?!?!??!?!?!? I was just open mouthed. So dad took him with to an appointment he had, and he was good as gold. THE minute he got home, he was back at it. Mouthing off to me, throwing whole body fits, freaking out over what we were having for lunch-you name it. Will someone PLEEEEEEEEZ tell me it's not just him---and it's not just aspies!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anywho. We're staring ADD/ADHD meds tomorrow. Our son's psychologist recommended Concerta. I know NOTHING about these meds...can I have some examples of if you've used it; how long you've used it, how high did you need to go up in dosage...ug. Too much, my brain is fried today.
