Helmets vary greatly so it is hard to give input unless we can have some more details. You will find people on this page who loved the STARband and people who did not - you will also find people who loved the DOCband and people who did not. Some have switched from DOC to STAR and some have switched from STAR to DOC. I think a person's satisfaction depends largely on the skill and experience of the orthotist, the age of the child and the severity/type of plagio. It is such a tough decision, especially when you have a choice. When we were seeking treatment, our orthotist only made one type of device and there were no DOC or STAR facilities in our state. Our orthotist now makes STAR, but at the time, he only made the helmet! Ask lots of questions and see if you can talk to the orthotists that make the different products in your area to see what kind of experience they have and how many babies they have treated with their product.
