Guest guest
We went to Disneyland this week. When we go, we stop by City Hall and get a Guest Assistance Card (GAC) for my AS son which, for those of you that do not know, allows him and up to five additional people to either go in through the exit and stand in the handicap line or to go through the fast pass line. This is usually not a problem, but for some reason, it seems the whole day we were arguing with the Disney cast members about my son's disability. At the end of the day, we were in line for Space Mountain and yet again had to argue. After my husband and son got on the ride, I was listening to the worker harass a blind person carrying a cane and wearing sunglasses at night. The worker told them that they needed a GAC to be able to use the line. They said that the people at City Hall told them that he didn't need a GAC because he had his cane which made his disability pretty obvious. Finally the cast member let them go, but it just made me chuckle inside about how ignorant some people are. It did make me feel better about the way other people react to my son's 'invisible' disability when people with obvious disabilities get harassed too. I just wanted to share about my day. Thanks for listening. Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now.
