Guest guest
Hi, I am new here as well, but haven't really had a chance to post in depth about anything yet because of time constraints. Mostly I go through my daily digest and read what is there with the intention of coming back to one post or another and providing input where I can... but you know how it is. Life has a way of getting in the way of things. But bullying is something that really gets to me because I myself was bullied when I was younger, and I know it happens to a lot of people. AS kids tend to be targets. I do know of a couple of podcasts that are about autism and bullying which are pretty good in my opinion. I think what is good about them is that it explains WHY kids on the spectrum are targeted in the first place, and it suggests things they can and should do when bullied. You can find them at www.mic.mypodcast.com . They are called Autism and Bullying I & II. I'd be interested in knowing what anyone here thinks of them. From what I've heard from others, they are not bad. So this is my two sense on the bullying aspect of things. I will have to keep reading the ole digest to see if anyone else has helped out with the rest of your inquiries. Welcome to the group. This year has been an absolute nightmare, teasing, bullying, etc. School has always been his love, he loves going, this year its not so much! I read with interest the posts here they sound so like my son. Any advice about getting diagnos, dealing with school, support, etc. is welcomed. With all of his multiple needs and this AS on top of it, I am at my wits end, I cant stand seeing him suffer this way. Thanks Sandi
