Guest guest
Belinda, I use a little Graco/Century padded potty seat with handles for it just sets on the existing seat - and she really likes it. I just lift it off when I need to go! I don't have a problem with the pee going under the seat with it, but I imagine it will be a problem with a boy.... I have seen a Baby Bjorn potty seat that kind-of looks like a saddle, especially handy for the boys...the " shield " area was the biggest I've seen and looked smart for a boy! I didn't look close enough to see if the part that goes onto the seat is long enough to avoid the " overspray " between the regular seats. I think you can get the Bjorn and the Graco ones at babiesRus and maybe through http://www.onestepahead.com They seem to have innovative stuff at one step ahead - I get their catalogs, too. I think both the Bjorn and Graco ones you can either buy the separate potty chair with the seat that goes on the big potty or you can just get the big potty seat. I'm not sure if will want to use the little potty or not...since he IS so different in about every way. And he is on the tall side...34.5 " and 28 lbs. at 17-18 months. Daddy is 6'4 " so we think will be tall, too, if he continues...so he will likely be wanting the big potty! So, how is Vince liking the concept of being on a potty? I don't want to force into it, for sure, 'cause once he figures out that he has complete control over it, I may be sorry! I'll just keep looking for clues that he is ready and hop to it. The strangest thing with is that he has done almost everything EARLIER than , though he has made it more difficult than she did....like just stopping breastfeeding and eating baby food.... let me wean her at 13-14 mos. and still loved to eat her 3rd foods in a bowl with a spoon (feeding herself) and all the table food... stiff-armed me and refused to nurse at 10.5 months...then flat out swore-off eating anything with baby on the jar and baby cereals....wanted his table foods, and NOW! Hopefully he will just take off his diaper one day and hop up on the potty seat and go! HA! Like that'll ever happen!! I can dream!!! Well, I'm SURE more info than you needed!!! But hey...I learn SO much from other moms' experiences! There's nothing like getting info from those who've been there & done that....exactly why this group is so valuable!
