My first question, of many to come, is how did your children react to

their helmets? Did their sleep pattern alter, did they

seem " uncomfortable " at all or irritable those initial days and weeks?

Welcome Kerry,

My daughter, Reaghan has been in her Band since 2/12. She has

adjusted very well. She just turned 7 months and didn't really even

seem to notice it. In the first few days, she would fuss a little

when I took it off to check for red spots, but I think more because I

was interupting her play. I am sure Aiden will do wonderful, sounds

like he is a fighter! Again welcome and keep us posted.

Hi Kerry,

My son got his DOC band 2/23/01 (almost 2 weeks ago.) He was 8 1/2

months old at the time. He adjusted fine. His sleeping habits

remained the same. His usual good moods and lots of smiling stayed

the same too! He got some red spots and irritation on his forehead

(that we are hoping to get fixed at our adjustment appointment this

Friday) and that didn't seem to bother him either. (That just

bothered me.) His head got pretty sweaty though. So I dressed him a

bit lighter and took his DOC band off every couple of hours (just for

a quick minute) to wipe his hair dry and wipe out the inside of the

helmet.

Good luck!

Hi Maggie got her band at 1 week shy of her forst b-day. She pulled

on it for the first 2 hours and left it alone. We gave her the band

to hold, walk around with and make hers and now she gets made when

her sibs want to touch it. she likes it and even uses it as a weapon

to headbutt her older brother!!!! Kaycee in Albany mom to Maggie (15

months)
