We had only 3 months of pt from 6-9 and were then released because pretty much resolved. I think you'll see some nice changes once you get started. Guest guest
Hello all, Its been sometime since I posted but lurked everyday. was seen by his family phys on Feb. 20 where I experessed my concerns regarding the shape of s head. This time I was armed with info on plagiocephaly and torticollis. The doc read the info on what I had but never heard of plagio. I pointed out the bossing, the full cheek, the flat head and the wry neck, all things I mentioned on previous visits. I beleive the informatation that was givin to him swayed him to refer me to a ped. He said that it didn't look like had tort but the ped would determine that. Great! thats all I ever really wanted. Ok, I meet with the ped yesterday, yup he does indeed have tort, which in his words should have been dealt with a long time ago. As for the misshaped head he gave no indcation that it was plagio. He showed me some stretching excersises to do and wants to see him in a months time. He said that it may be to late for the stretching to work and may need surgury to fix it, yikks I want to avoid that for sure. I have contacted our Childrens treatment center here to help me do the stretching excerises on and to monitor the results. I am hoping this will correct it over time. As for the plagio I am going back too my family phys who said he will send to where ever I wanted to go. Kendra and other Canadains where do u think I should go to Toronto Sick Kids or Ottawa? Thanks so much Sue in Timmins Ontario
Guest guest
is 9 months now. I am not sure about the lump I never noticed one and I guess the ped who exmained him after birth didn't either but than again her never noticed his bent foot either a nurse had to point it out. was born emergency c-section at 36 weeks after several months on bedrest for placenta previa. He was in the same head down position for at least 2 months and was born with a foot that was bent upto his shin, so he was very constrained in utero. I beleive now that is why he has tort. I didn't know what to look for at the time and beleived my doctor when he said that his head was normal. It was only when I did my own research on the net and found info and this group that lead me to beleive that did have something wrong. Physiacal therapy is being started next week at our Childrens Treatment Center and I have started stretching excersises here at home. I have been lurking on torticolliskids and have yet to intro myself, I will soon. Thanks Sue > Sue - How old is ? Surgery, thank goodness is rare but does happen. > Did have a lump on the neck early on? Make sure and start weekly pt > and faithfully do those home stretches. Professional pt is vital!
