Guest guest
Hi Everyone- well had his Neuro consult wednesday and depsite the fact that he will just be 3 months on March the 8th the dr felt that we should go ahead and band him now. He has right bossing and back flatness and was diagnoesed as moderate-severe. Needless to say i am still a bit shocked. Cant seem to stop crying every time I look at that beautiful little head of his. I thought for sure they would tell us to continue repositioning and check back in a month. But my son is quite the independent and depite aggressive repositioning and tummy time he manages to get him self where HE WANTS TO BE. I am thankful it was caught early and because of that the PT/orthotist thinks he may only have to be banded for a short time- so that is a bonus I guess. Now................ We had the appointment Wedensday and moved to Memphis Thursday where there are no DOC band providers. Has anyone out there receieved treatment in Dallas or Atlanta and if so what was your experience? How do I determine which would be the better faciltiy to use? Either way I have to drive 6 hours 1 way for my son to get treatment so I would like to choose the best location. There is a cranial facial clinic in Chatanooga, TN but they specialize in surgery and are not DOC providers should I check them out for band therapy?? Our Dr only did x rays and not a CT scan. I have heard so many of you talk about the CT scan should I be pushing to get one of these before we move forward? What do they tell you that the Xray don't? I am so upset it is difficult to make sense of everything. I just feel like if I had done things differently then my son wouldnt have to go through this. Now I just want to make sure he gets the best care possible. Insight direction or advice from any of you will be helpful. Thaks so much, Beck
