We picked up 's band on Monday of this week and are scheduled to go back this coming Monday for her first adjustment. I think that they like to see you in the first week to check on any pressure points. Kathy
Guest guest
Hi: My daughter & I drive 3 hrs one way to the nearest Cranial Tech., she rec'd her band 2 wks ago - we scheduled her appt late morning, got the band, went to lunch, did some shopping, went back to the clinic so she could play & blow some stink off after a long drive, then they re-checked for red spots. Unless you are spending the night, I definitely suggest making an early appt then going back for a re- check 2-3 hours later! Guest guest
Hi Teri, There was no way I was paying 17,000 when I could go to Mexico and have it done for 8,900. That's less than half price and I can garentee you I got as good of if not better care than I could have gotten here in the US. It was a great experience and was very satisfing. I absolutely love my band and wouldn't have done it anyother way. If you would like to talk to me about it you can e-mail me. Good luck and it's the best thing you can do for yourself and your family. It's the first step to taking your life back and getting into better health. It's so amazing when food becomes such a small part of your life instead of the whole focus of your life. You have made a great choice and will be happy with your decision. It will not always be easy, but the result will be sooooo worth it. Keep in touch!! As long as the loan comes through for us, I will be having the lapband surgery. My dilemma is that I need to come to grips with spending $17,000 here in Washington. So many people have said they go to Mexico, but I am not sure I am comfortable with that. So you all really feel you made a great investment? Thanks for you input and I'm sure I will have many more questions soon. Teri --------------------------------- Don't pick lemons. See all the new 2007 cars at Autos. Guest guest
Hello Teri, I wasn't 100% comfortable going to Mexico, but I did a lot of research and the feedback the Dr.s have there was excellent. Particularly, I heard great feedback about Dr. Ortiz, Dr. Kuri, and Dr. Rumbaut (who is banded himself). I ended up going to Dr. Ortiz. At that time it was $8500 or $9000--can't remember. It's probably more now. I was treated with more care and attention than I have EVER received in a US Dr.'s office or a hospital here--seriously! The care and attention was very personal. I have even heard of nurses (on several of the band groups on ) going to Mexico and saying that the sterilization procedures and guidelines they follow are stricter than in the US. When I first talked to my husband about going to Mexico, rather than spending $17k, he said, " NO WAY!! " But, we both did the research and it didn't take long for him to get on board--even in Tijuana. Do the research. Ask lots of questions. You should find the answers you're looking for. I am SO happy with the decision I made! Guest guest
Teri, It is the best money I have ever spent. Far better than the gym membership we had for 4 years when NO ONE went to the gym. Far better than the 2 pieces of expensive home gym equipment that sat and gathered dust in the garage. Far better than the years of nutrisystem, and other " diet programs " I joined. My grocery bill is much more under control and my local dairy queen almost went out of business (lol) Thants how often i went there and spent a TON of money. Going to mexico is a choice some people make for financial reasons. I know people who go to the dentist there too, It is affordable and state of the art. But here at NWWLS you have it all. Right here, Right now. If you have a problem on a saturday someone will actually be there, come in to the office and take care of you. After care for one whole year is included. Support groups twice a month. I my opinion it is the GOLD STANDARD in the USA. mila_cm > > I have attended 2 seminars (one by myself and one with hubby) and I > now have my hubby " on board " ......well, sort of anyhow!
