Guest guest
HI I recently read Teaching at home: a new approach to tutoring children with autism and AS by Olga Holland (2005). You might find it a good read Joining an email homeschool group that caters for AS kids is useful resource and finding a homeschooling cooperative in your area that caters for special needs kids is another good idea. These seems to be a number of curriculum providers some of which cater to special needs kids such as Seton and they also provide support of you along the way. However the ones I am aware of tend to be Catholic baised I am a serious Catholic and follow Ellen Barrett's blog, Tales from the Bonny blue House as she homeschool her son , along with the rest of her large family. She seems to have sensible advice on home schooling her son so maybe you would find her blog a good read. I have asked Ellen's advice on teaching reading to my own autistic son, Malcolm http://maryellenb.typepad.com/ Give homeschooling a go and I hope it works out okay for you and your son Karnak
