Using Names For Insurance Appeals - A word of warning

Hello All,

I don't want to stir a contravery up, or deter people from helping,

but I have to mention this because I don't want any of us to

unknowingly hurt any of our members.

You have to be very careful when you submit actual names of people

that have been covered by your insurance carrier. The reason for

this is because in the past CT used this tactic with my insurance

company UHC. But instead of it helping it back fired and UHC started

revoking past claims that had been approved. So of course CT no

longer uses this tactic with UHC......I was told this by one of the

ladies at corporate CT about 2 months ago.

So basically be careful. It is probably okay to use names of people

that have been covered by OTHER insurance plans, just not your own.

This should not deter any of us from helping one another, but anyone

planning on submitting actual names of people, needs to be careful

when doing so. It might be better to not use actual names and just

site the insurance companies that have paid and the city/state where

your own insurance company has paid.

Sincerely,

Jaya Dong
