Guest guest
aitan went through the same thing!!!!! i never thought he would sit and was told he was a month+ behind. at 8.5 months, he was barely sitting. then a week later, he sat like a champ? go figure. a lot of kids in our playgroups have been crawling since 8 months, so again i was getting upset. my " new " doctor said " he's going to be late on all his gross motor skills. he should be pulling up by now etc.... " i was so upset. two days ago, aitan crawled across the bed. he all of a sudden started rocking on his knees and i thought how cute, then the next thing i knew he was crawling. he will be 10 months old on the 22nd. its so frustrating to compare to other kids but we always do. the only thing i can say is that sarah is probably doing stuff that other kids cant. aitan has great fine motor skills. so i say....no biggie...other kids are eating much better than him and will walk in circles around him-for now....but other kids are other kids....and hes mine and doing great going at his own pace. sarah will never know that she was a little behind in a few years from now when shes running around the playground. if you really want to be sure, i would go out and get a 2nd opinion, 3rd, etc.... not all therapits are right as with doctors. call me anytime!!!! and hang in there!!!!! > is now a little over 8 months. She doesn't yet sit by herself. She > can sit up, but we have to be right there b/c she will topple over. Also, > although doesn't really like her tummy (ugh!!!!! we all know the > reasons why!!!), she will watch a video on her tummy and she does roll over > and sleep on her tummy. I wanted to know if anyone has experienced this. > The therapist said that she isn't rolling over " properly " because of > spending too much time on her back. This doesn't seem right, though because > she is on her stomach, but when she is, she wont keep her arms in front of > her (we tried toys, etc.) Most babies today don't like their stomachs > either, but they don't have this problem. I have been really upset by this. > The same day after the appointment we were at gymboree and one of the babies > crawled for the first time. The mother was so happy and the class was > clapping. I was happy for her, but sad that my daughter can't sit up. She > is the only one who can't sit by herself and the range of ages is 7 months - > 10 months. > Laurie ('s mom)
