Guest guest
Hi J.R., Testosterone is definitely worth a shot, but self-medicating is generally a bad idea. Maybe you can consult an on-line doc (anyone here have recommendations?) It's good to start off with a full range of hormone tests. You should find out if you're primary or secondary, so you can explore all options. Startup TRT should include monthly tests of at least T, free T & E2. Dosage may need to be adjusted. Some guys don't absorb gels well, and should try something else. Question: Is it possible you might want to have kids someday? Getting it right the first time is worth the effort. Guest guest
Hi Bruce, thanks a lot for taking the time to reply. I'm not big into self medication but I really can't face the medical system with my shaky grasp of the French language so I thought if I could partly figure out what the problem is then when I come home next summer I can get it seen too properly. From what I have read from you guys the two main problems that result in very low libido are low testosterone and high E2 and seeing that the Testogel hasn't made any difference could it be possible that my E2 is too high, or is that not usually a problem for someone that is 22 years old. Here are my symptoms: No Libido Rapid weight loss when not eating or working out exactly right Awful memory Nervousnous and tendency to get easily depressed General tiredness My biggest problem is with the libido and I have felt this way for too long and need to get it sorted so any suggestions would be much appreciated. Also I do hope to have children, why? Thanks, JR. > > > > > > Hey guys, I am 22 years old and have been suffering from a > non > > existent libido for years now. Guest guest
Hi JR, Total T being " just under 400 " * is probably low enough to cause your symptoms. Hormone therapy can reasonably be expected to reduce or eliminate those symptoms. It's worth doing, and it's worth doing it right. I asked about having children because supplemental testosterone can eventually make you sterile . Not to worry yet, it takes a while. (See why self-medicating might be a bad idea? There are hidden pitfalls.) Because you want kids, you should either have some sperm frozen if you're going to continue TRT, or choose another therapy. The best way to increase T while preserving fertility is to stimulate your body's natural production. I'm GUESSING you have secondary hypogonadism, meaning your body can make testosterone, it just isn't making enough. That's based on your total T being " just under 400 " *, which I THINK is high enough to indicate you can make T. It takes a stimulation test to make sure. If your hypogonadism is primary, your body cannot make T, so TRT is the only way to go. Many docs won't diagnose or treat hypogonadism with total T being slightly " in range " , like yours. Seems to me your uro glanced at the number, disregarded that it's very low for a 22 year old, and ignored the symptoms you described. It's hard to find a good hormone doc in the US, I don't know about France. If you really need an English-speaking doc, a Google search with keywords: ' medical doctor france " english speaking " ' gives a lot of resources. Or, maybe you can connect with Dr. Crisler, an online hormone doc at: http://www.ALLTHINGSMALE.com I don't know him, other guys here do. Back to your original question, you could expect Testogel results after 3-4 weeks, but everyone's different. Some people don't absorb through skin well. You could stay on the Testogel for a little while to see if you get results. If you don't get results that doesn't prove much: there are a number of different things that need to be checked if results are poor. Here's a potential problem: With the Testogel your T will go up. You'll probably feel a boost. After a month or two your natural T production will shut down. At that point your body will be relying almost entirely on the supplemental T. Without natural T your T will drop back down to about where it was at the start. Getting it back up again will require increasing the Testogel. Now at some point you'll probably want to stop Testogel (to preserve fertility or get a stimulation test). Without supplemental T and with natural T production supressed, your levels will drop below where they were when you started. So you'll feel worse than when you started. My advice: Stop the Testogel, find a competent doc and get a stimulation test. I'm not a doc & I'm not as smart as I think I am. Get some opinions from others here. Best, Bruce * " Just under 400 " * is a little too vague. Can you get a copy of the lab report? That's also helpful for posting the ranges: different labs use different ranges, so try to post them too. > > > > > > > > > Hey guys, I am 22 years old and have been suffering from a > > non > > > existent libido for years now. Guest guest
Hi Phil, just a quick sidenote, I did used to have very hard nipples that got sore when rubbing against a tshirt and playing sport. It lasted two or three years but went away at about the age of 18/19. I always just thought it was a part of puberty and now my nipples seem to be fine although my right one does have a couple of permenant spot like things on it that I burst and empty of a white gue every couple of months. It's a bit random, I know, and it sounds disgusting but you wouldn't notice unless you were looking. Thanks, JR

I got that feeling early on. I think its from rising E2. When I got E2 in check all those sort of feelings left. - - - - Just another albino black sheep
Guest guest
JR, If it happens regularly like that, i would say get it checked out. Sounds like some sort of recurring infection. Guest guest
Hello, I don’t know who to address this message to but I am in need of some assistance. I can’t post messages because my job wont allow me to from my computer but here is the situation: I have a child that I work with who has a diagnosis of Aspergers, Bipolar and Mild Mental Retardation. He is currently in foster care and his goal is Adoption. He is a very loving 15 year old biracial child! I am in need of trying to find an adoptive family for this child as well as a support group(s) for his prospective adoptive parents in the State of Virginia. I would like to find a foster parent/home that has experience in parenting children with these special needs. If you know of any resources that I can be referred to, please contact me or forward me the information at the numbers listed below or to my email address. Any information that can be provided will be greatly appreciated. Every child deserves a family and every child is adoptable! Lytricia M.
