Guest guest
I brought to the therapist (through Medicaid) today. My work gave me a hard time with leaving early to bring , even though I had already worked extra hours to make up my time and didn't take lunch today. Anyway.. I am very pleased so far! 's counselor's name is Aura. She is so friendly, and warm, and sweet! was hesitant going with her at first but when I joined in a little while later, she was fine! Aura said that really needs group therapy - it is important that she feel accepted by her peers. But she also needs individual therapy because she is so angry with her dad for not being a part of her life. We divorced when she was just 9 months. She didn't see him again until she was 7, and then he was showing up drunk all the time, lying to her about taking her to the movies and never showing up, etc. Not to mention that he owes us $38K in child support and is dragging me into court every few months to try to get out of paying (claims he is dying but none of us - my lawyer, the judges, or anyone else we know believes him). is so upset - she has a birthmark that she inherited from him and she tries to scratch it off because she doesn't want anything to do with him - this leaves her a bloody mess. I have to see if I can bring her to a dermatologist who will shave it off before she scars herself. So...another appointment next Thursday at 1 pm (during my lunch hour, but they are 20 minutes away, so that's 40 minutes traveling time, plus one hour in the office). Aura said that the first half hour will be her time and the second half hour will be 's time - they can play games or just talk. Aura said the psychiatrist that she is recommending to us is very good with the kids and definitely spends more than 5 minutes with them. She is going to call me tomorrow with the name of the group therapist. I hope the psychiatrist and the group therapist have after work or weekend hours.
