Dear Byron,

I live in Pittsburg CA and my LLMD is in Sonoma. It takes about an hour to

get there, and well worth the time.

I always enjoy reading your posts, and have learned so much from you and

everyone else on this ng.

Best wishes to you, your back and your brew!

,

Yes, Dr. Prehn is my doctor. He is the greatest, and I highly recommend him

to anyone in the Bay Area. I started going to him in May, and it was such a

relief to know that I didn't have to educate him.

Best wishes

No. Calif. people, any one know anything about Dr. at UCSF, he is in

the Lyme Clinic or something like that. I am very curious about him as we

have an appt. with him in a few days and like to know something ahead of

time. The insurance is sending us for a second opinion. Thank you all. It

is nice to hear from so many West coast people. (Maybe not so nice, since it

means you are sick) Meg No. CA

Bob, I tried to find a naturopathic physician in your area with no luck, but my

resources are limited. Suggest you call the American Association of

Naturopathic Physicians or the equivalent in Canada. They will know for sure of

dr closest to you.

Like you, going the allopathic route just " felt wrong " and I have been doing

only alternative for 2 1/2 years with very good success.

Strongly suggest you get a dr to follow you by testing your blood, giving you

reading materials, and generally educating you on the alternative cancer cure

route. This is so important that I cannot stress it enough.

Good luck, Kathy.

Howdy Mike!

Originally from Indiana, moved to the gulf coast of Texas

in about '46 or '47 where the humidity is HIGH and probably

a plus. I first experienced psoriasis my sophomore year

(about '58) on my scalp.

When I visited our eldest son in Phoenix, AZ a couple

years ago, I had to constantly use creams/lotions to keep

my dry skin comfortable. My son uses " soft " water and

soaps/detergents for sensitive skin (the dermatologist

diagnosed his scalp condition as seborrhea rather than psoriasis).

Good Morning America had this recently:

Cures in the Cupboard

“People’s Pharmacist” Joe Graedon shows GMA’s

Diane Sawyer popular and effective homemade

remedies for common ailments. (ABCNEWS)

ABCNEWS.com

N E W Y O R K, Nov. 16 - Is it possible that

some of the things we think of as just home remedies really do work?

Pharmacologist and author Joe Graedon, who

visited our Times Square studio this week, showed

us what he says are some of the most effective and

unusual therapies that many people swear by.

“Now, you shouldn’t give up your regular medicine,”

Graedon cautions. “You should always stay under a doctor’s supervision.”

But Graedon says that simple homemade remedies

such as gin-soaked raisins for arthritis have been

remarkably effective for many people: “It’s a pretty

benign way to treat your arthritis pain,” he says. The

bottom line is that help for many common medical

problems can be as close as your kitchen cabinet (or your local health food

store).

> and tried it??

Nope. IMHO: It's another one of those

" too good to be true " sounding cures.

But here are the instructions:

Gin-Soaked Raisins for Arthritis:

Empty a box of golden raisins into a medium-size

bowl and add enough inexpensive gin to cover.

Allow the gin to evaporate for a week to 10 days,

then place the moist raisins in jar with a cover.

Eat nine raisins a day - not eight, not 10 - and

in about six weeks, arthritis pain may be relieved.

It’s not the alcohol in the gin, since most of that

evaporates, but some other ingredient such as

juniper oil that is believed to produce the effect.

Let us know if you try it and how it does.

LOL -- I can think of LOTS of things that gin-soaked

golden raisins might be good for, but I am not sure

one of them is arthritis --

This is an open request to all of the PA'ers out there. I was just wondering

where everyone lives. I have had it for about 18 months now and was wondering

if any of you had moved since getting PA? I live in Illinois and will be

relocating

to the Las Vegas area soon. Partly because of the disease and other reasons.

I was also wondering who if any one is on disability and what they had to do to

get on it. I guess I am not in as bad of shape as some of the PA'ers I have

read

about on here. I am a Deputy Sheriff and luckily I work the night shift and

don't

have to deal with alot of people. It is hard for me to get moving sometimes

though and the fatigue is sometimes to much to handle. I am on MTX and was

told by a coulpe of people to try Gin soaked Golden Rasins. Has anyone else

heard of this and tried it??

Thanks,

MIKE

Hi Mike - I am the night book keeper (4 - midnight shift) at the chain

grocery store and live in very rural south Georgia - a little place called

Woodland - look really hard at the map cause it's south of Manchester and

north of Columbus.

I know what you mean about the fatigue - seems to get worse instead of

better some days.

Best of luck to you. Peace and tranquility to you and yours for the Holiday

Season.

Hi Mike

IRELAND calling!

Yep I do not even reside in USA, but Cousins DO reside in LV!!!!! Actually

one is a " Police man " , well thats what I call it. He has a gun and badge,

because I saw them when I visited for a family funeral two years ago.

My arthritis was unaffected by the desert heat, in fact it cured the aches

and pains. Mind you I was in the pool and Jacuzzi a lot at midnight with a

bottle of Bud! I hope you have a neat pair of cycling shorts? The Cousins

took me to The Luxor Hotel, cannot miss it as it is a glass pyramid and I am

into Egypt! As we returned to the car park a police man was on a Mountain

Bike! He wore the official blue shirt, sun glasses and cycling shorts! He

also had a gun and a drinks bottle. Anyway I asked him if I could take his

photograph, as I am sure the Police in London would be stunned to see this.

He agreed to a photograph, but I think he thought I was insane. Anyway boy

did he have sexy legs and tight but!

On a blue note, the desert heat did nothing for the P, except really dry it

out! When I returned after my ten day visit my GP was annoyed at the state

of my dried out hands! I did put plenty of cream on them, but I assume the

hot desert winds just dried the cream out first?

Love and God Bless

I sure haven't but I'm willing to give it the almighty try! I'll let

everyone know if I'm successful! I had several glasses of wine the other

night and I could barely get out of bed. The wine must make my pain worse!
