Guest guest
Do you call your doctor and ask for a referral? I am clueless. I would like to know for sure but is that really possible. The info I am learning is helping me to focus on areas to help my son. Thanks, Beth
Guest guest
hi hun i am shell mum of 6 one with severe autism one with aspergers one with traits one with lbd i also have aspergers .My first advice would be to kep a dairy from now to whe you visit your doctor ,make a list of all his behaviours and routines The only way they will dx aspergers is if he has the TRIAD OF IMPAIRMENTS with the exception of having speech children with aspergers genrally dont have problems with speech where has autiistic children do. we started with our G.P tell them your concerns and ask to sit a multy discaplinary assessment (uk)if The A.D.O.S test is usually done for asperegrs it is 99% accurate im not sure where in the world you are so it will be differant if you are not in the uk . if you need any knowledge on the differant tests they can do please ask or visit my group link below love shell kind regards shell http://groups.msn.com/autismaspergersinthefamily ___________________________________________________________ is the world's favourite email. Guest guest
What we did was first start with the pediatrician and he can refer you to a psychiatrist/psychologist. Guest guest
Our state has a birth to 3 program for at risk kids and DS's pediatrician arranged the initial assessment that way. Guest guest
Also, if you haven't yet, check your state's Autism Society website. Ours has some regional/local contact lists, so someone in your area may be able to direct you to some place knowledgeable about autism, diagnosing, etc. > > Do you call your doctor and ask for a referral? Guest guest
Yes, you can get a referral from your pediatrician. RoxannaAutism Happens ( ) Where do you begin if you suspect your child has AS? Do you call your doctor and ask for a referral? I am clueless. I would like to know for sure but is that really possible. The info I am learning is helping me to focus on areas to help my son.
