Guest guest Posted March 24, 2001 Report Share Posted March 24, 2001 Fba is functional behavior assessment, used to be called fb analyses but they changed it or so the training lady who spoke today at the fba seminar i attended said.... My daughter is in fourth grade and has asperger's and she is chasing around this little boy at the cocersion of the other children,the school is taking away her recess and has mention if the behavior doesn't stop they will kick her out of school. I don't think she is fully responsible because she even obey's three year olds but she does feel threatened by this other child. What is a parent to do? As we are doing one for my 7th grader and it is my IEP team that will be there. As for the other children I would have a talk with the teacher as there is a strong No bullying policy around these days. The school or moreover the teacher should put an end to this behavior as I would think it would be affecting all of the children in this class. Anyone who is having contact with your child could be part of the FBA (classroom teacher, speech therapist, etc). Sometimes a person with extensive knowledge of autism is part of the process.
