Guest guest
There is a mini golf place near us that does a halloween thing. You wear a costume and get $1 off. Then at the holes there are big bowls of candy and the kids can take some. My kids dressed up. was Harry Potter and Rayleigh was a girl pirate. They were so cute. Mini Golf was SO MUCH FUN! They tried to make it a little creepy by just having torches lit but the wind kept blowing them out so it was so dark we kept losing golf balls. We gave up taking score. They played some of MY favorite music. Oh yes, ME dancing the TIME WARP while holding golf clubs and buckets of candy. They played music from Rocky Horror Picture Show and Little Shop of Horrors (two of my favorites). Oddly enough it wasn't crowded at all. The weather was nice. It was 62 degrees F and breezy with the occasional stronger gust. It had been raining earlier but wasn't when we arrived. It stopped just long enough for us to golf, get candy, play a "guess the body part" game, have some snacks (hot dog for dad, pumpkin cake for Rayleigh) and get in the car. Guessing the body part game was nothing short of hilarious with my asperger kid. He could NOT get the eyeballs at all. He guessed weird things like uvula (thing that hangs down the back of your throat) much to the confusion of the girl running the game. He did fine with brains and fingers. We were giving him clues about the eyes while trying not to make him feel bad. I said, "they're behind your glasses" and he said, "ears?" It makes sense, right. Finally the girl said, "they need your glasses to work better" and he got it. She was SO perplexed. I decided not to explain his asperger syndrome since it wasn't really important to the situation. Tonight came to me and out of the blue said, "Mom, I've just realized something." I asked him, "What's that?" He said, "I'm melodramatic!" Cracks me up totally.
