Once when my DS was about 4 or 5, he had an ear infection, he was prescribed amoxicyllin (ya know, the pink stuff) and the first night, I had to hold him down to take it... it was terrible!! Then the next night, I got the bright idea to call it "" medicine -- the starfish from SpongeBob... he actually took it without a fuss!! And all this before I knew he had AS... wish I had known, though... Which do you want?" Sometimes he would stand there, but most of the time I would have to hold him down. Eventually, a few times, he even ASKED me to hold him down! Dylan is real sensitive about consistencies of things. Mushy, runny,

gooey, not for him. He doesn't eat sauces, gravies, dips, etc... There are very few exceptions. I think this was part of the reason why he didn't like medicine either. Sucked, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

That's cool that it works for him. Sometimes parents need to be creative. :)

Kids certainly do keep parents on their toes even when you would think they are too sick to want out of bed!

( ) active sick kids

How do you keep a sick ADHD/Asperger child from being overly active while sick? My son won't stay still for even a minute and that brings on really bad coughing. How do you get them to take medicine? My son is on one for behaviors that I can sneak in his orange juice but he can always detect cold medicines in anything. Thanks!
