,

I'm not sure about what is general practice, but we have let have her

blankie since she was about 9 months. That was about the time she started

walking and we felt it would be safe and we haven't ever had a problem. Have

you asked your ped? Our ped said it would be ok, but that may vary from ped

to ped or from baby to baby.

I started letting Chandler use a satin/chennile burp cloth size blanket

at around 6 months when she could easily roll over. I worried about

it too, but now, she uses that blanket in her hand while she sucks her

thumb. I don't worry about it now, but it is not a big blanket by

any means and it wouldn't be heavy enough to do any harm. I think

you are probably safe at his age. I think I have created a monster

with her blanket--it has to go everywhere with us!! We actually have

two just alike--one for her bed and one to take along with us!

Do what you feel is right, though!!

Hanna has a little bunny that she sleeps with. It has always been a rule that is STAYS IN BED!
